Myself for knowledge of harmful cumulative UV radiation reasons:

Up to 2-3hours after sunrise time or 2-3 hrs before sunset time

Easy way to test without actually knowing what time it is:
Your shadow projected on the ground need to be at least your height / length to be in less harmful UV

Keep in mind UV will go through clouds and is in no way safer than clear skies in most conditions

If I see my shadow, I know I have 2 more sessions of kiting!!!!! And if the trees are swaying!!

You must be a large GROUNDHOG to cast that much shadow

Prefer sunny and NO DRIFT! Don't care for Gloomy days.

BUT what if (hypothetically) you lived where:
............................ There is wind everyday at all hours of the day
.............................And there was sunlight 10-12 hours a day all year long
.............................You never had to work or go to school
..............................Maybe even well off and/or retired

Knowing the Dangers of the Sun what would you then do

The dangers are all sooooo real: skin cancer,early cataracts,macular degeneration etc.....
Just to name a few

Ask any Dermatologist or Ophthalmologist

Sunglasses for eyes
Sunscreen for skin & suit or lycra, hat for head

im quite content with were i live and what i do.
in short, after work.
no worry of sun as most harm is caused between 11am-4pm.
i kite everyday its blowing , any direction. after work until its unrealistic to self rescue.
lately its 5pm to 8pm. last five days.
