All manufacturers make mistakes, which they probably should have counteracted during the developing faze. If this didn't happen, it all comes down on how they solve the problem.
North is, at least in the Netherlands, not known for his above average customer support. Kubus doesn't "do" North anymore so I don't know how it is right now. I was a North user for 7 years during which I had several quality problems with bars and kites and they weren't addressed properly, so I changed to a different brand from who I know for fact that they had issues with quality but corrected them very well and very accommodating.
good luck with your case, I think they should repair it and address all other users.

Had the exact same thing on my 2007 Rebel. Eventually the line rubbed a hole thru the leading edge and I could see the bladder inside! But that was after 3 years heavy use so no complaints and I just has a professional put a solid patch over it.

The OP isn't alone on this. I have the same two kites, 2011 fuse 10m and 7m, and noticed the same thing about a week ago on the 10m. The 7m looked ok. I was wondering if I my 10 was from an early batch and they changed the reinforcement placement on later kites. Mine has the same wear as your picture on both sides from the bridal pigtail rubbing on the leading edge. For that outside attachement point, they hooked it into the canopy instead of the LE, so the bridal kind of wraps over the LE, causing the wear. I agree, I think mine was bad enough that it could have just blown up in the near future from bladder pressure when pumped. Got lucky that I saw it before this happened. I've contacted my rep, who has fwd'd a request to North. I'll let you know if they're willing to do anything when we hear back. For now, I put some tear-aid Type A (bladder repair tape) on it to prevent further wear.
I had this same problem with my 2009 OR rises, and I fixed it with the tear-aid, but those were caught before they wore a hole thru the LE thanks to a post on the OR forum.

What bugs me most is the fact that my fairly new kite now has depreciated without compensation. Yes it can be repaired but that it's a repaired kite. Flew the 2012 today, patches on that one are well placed. The 2012 rocks by the way, what a lovely kite, even more responsive, sweet!

Not knowing where you are...however... If I was here, then this is where I would start if I had no resolution in dealing with the maker in the first instance. or similar depending on your local. http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1979/54

Hi Xray, Looks like you spent some time on Fuses. I'm about to get a 2012 9m , I like they can flight without the 5line, but I do love Rebels depowers and high end capabilities. In your opinion, are these those two kites similar in this matter ? Thanks a lot for your feedback regards, Fabrizio
