Maui seems to have more places where you cant kite than where you can? Is it really a great place to kite (ignoring all the hype)? Exactly what beaches can you kite from and are they crowded? I ask as looking to come to Maui fro three weeks in November. Appreciate any comments. Thanks

From a pure kiting location point of view maui is not the best place to kite. The wind is plentiful and strong, but gusty. But from a combination of great place to visit and kiting it is the best in the US

warm water
strong wind
Great support network for kiting
Can have good waves
Great non kiting stuff (for family)
Well developed (not a backwater)

Cons
Expensive
gusty wind
small beaches
not really flat water in most locations

Personally I love maui and try to go there every year. It is great for the family to visit as well
