So like the title says, anyone landing wakestyle type backroll on a surfy without redirecting a kite?

what i'm talkin about is the trick in this video, but without the grab. Anyone out there doin this ?

Rebstock's toe side grab is pretty minimal at 0:32 and Ian pulls a few at 1:54ish.

ya that's a sweet vid, but it looks to me like the kite is being sent a bit, - but i could be wrong.
either way awesome riding in that vid !!
what i'm thinkin is more like a parked kite, kite-low-ish, wakestyle type rotation.

Only seen it kite high so far. Might take a freak of nature to land it with forward speed. But hey, there out there.

I landed 2 strapless backrolls today..no grab. For me key was to keep the rotation tight...board flying into the wind, but not extremely much. Bottom into the wind, but just slightly. The moment your board goes wide, you're fubared. and the board is flinged up- or down wind.
Not quite sure..but I must have sent the kite at least once, but I don't think I grabbed the board...just kind of psyhced now. I'll try to get some vid of it next time
