Well done, sincerely.

Btw, I insist on buying folks lunch directly because in my city if I hand over cash it'll buy another nail in the recipient's coffin nine times out of ten.

Best regards,
James

Umm...they can. Otherwise, they have serious codependency issues and might be well served by some professional help

Cheers,
James

My point is they can't, many kiteboarders have been put in this situation of a sailing organization and /or club getting involved in their sport (kiteboarding) of which they know very little. So now we have to go to the bull5hit effort of creating a kiteboard racers association that none of us wanted, that we been forced to create to protect our own interests and keep kiteboarders 100% in control - not sailors focus solely on gold medals.

So what? Ignore it. It has nothing whatsoever to do with you unless you want it to.

No we don't. We can just go about doing whatever we always did.

Go ahead and continue kitebarding as you wish. The fact that kiteboarding will be included in the Olympics will have approximately zero percent impact on most of us. If not for forums like this, most of us wouldn't even know.

Don't worry, Olympic police will not arrive at your local beach to tell you what kind of boardshorts to wear or how to enjoy yourself, any more than they show up at beaches to make sure people aren't having too much fun playing beach volleyball.

Kiteboarders who get their nickers twisted because they've heard that some other kiters might get involved in the Olympics should be politely reminded to get a life.

Happy kiting, my friends,
James

Collectively, the Olympics represent an abundance of amazing achievements. Athletic achievements, business achievements, medical and nutritional achievements, marketing achievements, and so on.

To all of those who think they could do a better job of organizing and managing the Olympics, or that the Olympics shouldn't exist, how about posting your most amazing achievements in order to inspire us all...?

Cheers,
James

Ha ha ha ha.
Of your list of amazing achievements, only one is consistent with Olympics: athletic achievements in sports. All the others are irrelevant, if not downright detrimental, in particular business and marketing, for which I personally can only express utter contempt.
Organisation went very well before the appaling mercantilisation of the Olympic Games, thank you.

I agree with some of what you say, but you can certainly make great achievements without them. If they did not exist I wouldn't care, if fact I would go as far as saying it would be a good thing, as many kiteboarders in the world would not be dealing with a whole heap of political bull5hit right now and they could get back to concentrating on the actual things they love about kiteboarding. I didn't want to see kiteboard racing in the olympics as it opens such a huge can of worms mainly surrounding one sport (sailing) having to deal with another sport (kiteboardind racing) of which it knows very little with huge consequences, but it seems it is, so I accept it, mind you in november there is a possibility it is out of the Olympics...

I don't know how long ago you're referring to, and I can't comment intelligently on the organizational success through the ages.

That said, without hosting, television and other media (other than purely state operated), modern Olympics would be rather obscure events.

I do respect that some people favour exclusive events without any (mercantile) media coverage, paid for solely by participants and their (non commercial) benefactors, however I favour sharing among wider support and audience.

Cheers,
James
