G'day Mates!!!
Has anyone tried or even regulary ride with a 7m Xbow 2012? Im after some feedbacks bout this Xbow size.
Indeed, I LOVE my Xbow 9m 2012 but over 20kts it starts to be very sport for my 60kh and directional board. So Im thinking that a smaller Xbow could work for me over 20kts, so I could still enjoy my favourite kite : speed, upwind, hangtime
Thx guys!!
Cya

I've got a 2010 Xbow 7m. It doesn't feel all that different to my 2011 kites (other than being smaller) so it's a fair bet that it won't be that different to the 2012.
I added the Recoil spring to keep the trimmer tidy and make bar spinning a little neater.
I looooove this kite. On my F-One Fish 5'4" I can get going in about 18 knots and comfortably handle 35+knots. I weigh about 80kg. Great fun doing upwinders, slashing about on waves, boosting. All good.
It can get a bit stalley if you try to ride towards it too much in the surf. 1-2 turns is the most you'll get before having to turn away to re-tension the line. But it's fast enough that you can ride it and keep it moving and doing powered turns so it's fun for me.

Eh? 2011/12 Xbows have a different bridle to the 2010 - noticeable improvement for the 16m ... I assume the other sizes are better, but with diminished returns for size, no doubt.

Also, the most recent production Xbow 2012 have only 5 struts like the LW version because I heard they are better and you don't loose any stability.

I'm about 71KG and love this kite in high winds. When in Maui my 7 and 9 are my go to kites; been on the 7m for the last 7 days :=). If you pretty much ride a directional, you might want to consider trying the 2012 Drifter....a really fun kite and much better suited for the waves than the XB; turns faster, powers up and down faster, has surprising pop, but not the float that goes with the XB. And pretty much can not back stall this kit; hence the name...Drifter. Drifter comes in a 5.5, 7,9,11 and to me riders about a meter smaller than the XB, so the 7m Drifter might be the ticket. You might also consider the new Vector....IT IS NOT a BEGINNERS KITE! It also comes in a 7m and rides a bit smaller than the XB....very smooth, easy to ride; and the 7, and 9 are very friendly in the waves...and because of the smooth power delivery are very good for directional strapless tricks...as is the Drifter
