My 2011 Vertigos flag out on the mini 5th (two front lines) just fine, so I am sure the triggers will do the same.

How is the 2012 trigger compared to the 2011 vertigo and trigger? I am disappointed that the vertigo is discontinued- for a kite that looks so much similar to the trigger I cannot believe how different it flies. I can jump way higher and longer with the Vertigo than the 2011 triggers.

Having flown all three, my preference is the Trigger 2012.... although I had some good times on the Vertigo. The thing I didn't like about the vertigo was that if I flew it really aggressively, I could bend the wingtips. To be fair though, this happens to me when I fly most deltas. (Kahoona, Rally, Nano, Kima) I have never been able to get a wingtip to bend on the Trigger.

For jumping, I can't say one kite is better than the other between the models... but I most prefer the 9m and 10m sizes for jumping.

For my needs, the Trigger does everything the Vertigo did, and with the Wave setting on the 2012 especially, I think the differences blended together so much that it didn't make sense to have both models.

This is what happened with the Envy and the Havoc with Liquid force. Both kites were so similar, and good at the same things, that they dropped the Havoc line.

My local kite shop let me borrow the 10m Trigger this weekend. Got to take it out the first day in some 20 to 26mph winds, and then yesterday in some 16-21mph winds. The kite is absolutely amazing. Super fast and smooth. Really liked it. The 10m has a ton of power for a 10... definitely considering getting a quiver of these kites now. Here is a video from yesterday...
