I actually have a friend who bought a Fatlady and Infinity... and ended up selling the Fatlady one week later. He even ordered the fatlady directly from Blade. His reasoning is that Fatlady was good but it was just unusable size. He likes to kiteloop with Infinity and said that just can not loop Fatlady due to it's slowness. He weighs 235 lbs.
I do have an Infinity myself and I do go out in 8 knots of wind :)

If you are interested, please let me know. I do have an Infinity for Sale :)

Don't bother buying any kite bigger than 12m until you have a good lightwind board like a raceboard. The board will get you far better light wind capability for much less $.

I sometimes see newbies trying to ride expensive big kites with normal twin tip boards and wondering why they don't work very well.
I just shake my head.

Yes Mr. cglazier is correct about the "raceboard" and a 12 meter kite. But if you are looking to jump and have fun you won't be able to do that on a 12 meter and a raceboard. But you will be able to do that with the INFINITY and the OXYGEN board in 6 to 13 knots.

P.S . I don't think you can do this on a Race Board and a 12 meter kite in 8 to 12 knots. This is the INFINITY v1.

Thanks for all good info and comments guys!
I have had some quite good deals from people here in Sweden:

2011 Naish Bolt 16 meter kite only for 450 euros
2008 Cabrinha Contra 17 meter with bar for 400 euros
2011 Ozone Zephyr 17 meter with bar for 800 euros
New Blade Fat Lady 17 meter kite only for 800 euros

A bit hard to choose. What would you guys go for? I wanna be able to ride my 138x43 Momentum board and at least do some hooked in tricks.

My other kites are all 2012 Naish Park size 8, 10 and 14.

For ultra low end, the best kites are the Dyno, Fat Lady, and Flysurfer 21m. These kites will get you going in about 8+ knots. However, the Flysurfer is not as good as inflatables because of hassles with the bridle, tuning the mixer, and problems in complete wind dropouts.

The Epic Infinity is not a good light wind kite. For details, see this review: http://www.thekiteboarder.com/2011/05/e ... te-review/
The Infinity will get you going in ~10+ knots. Most riders prefer a LIGHT wind kite that really squeezes as much as it can out of light winds; turning speed is very secondary. While the Infinity turns quickly, certainly more quickly than the dedicated LIGHT wind kites like the Dyno and Fat Lady, it has poorer bottom end.

A solid lite wind set up is a sweet thing to have.
I'd pick that fat lady over the ozone, it weighs less and turns faster.
I love looping this kite, that extra lift as it comes around keeps me in the air for a long time.
My spot gets these days when there is 6 knots of wind in the launch zone,
but just a few meters off the beach its a smooth steady 12-14knots.
This kite is ideal for this situation and I am stoked to have this in my quiver this year.
Its a session saver!

Coming up on other kiters who are mowing the lawn and staying focused on staying upwind
and then jumping alongside them is a sick thrill that you will very much enjoy.

I know where you're coming from - I have a big Door TT and it's a lot of work to throw around ... I'd much rather ride my smaller board - same size as your Momentum, actually! Boards make a big difference ... if you don't like the big Doors, try the Epic Oxygen - I hear it's pretty good ;)

You WILL get out riding upwind like a machine on a smaller (12m) kite and a raceboard - we have a guy here who goes out with an 11m Charger and the big Naish raceboard ... he just flies upwind when everyone else gives up. All he does is "mow the lawn" like a gardener on cocaine though :o I'd love to try a Sector though ...

No chance of trying any of the kites? You might click with one and not the other ... from what I've read - if you like throwing the kite around, go for the Blade. If you like parking it, go for the Zephyr.

I like my big Flysurfer because for me, now, with what I want to do on the water, it does the job fabulously. But when I'm mowing the lawn (and the little guys are walking ;) ) I give up too cos that's just boring - I can totally understand how people won't kite in less than 20 knots or use a kite bigger than 12m ... but if I had that mind-set I'd only ride a day or two a month!!!

Well there's an admission pumpy - you seen the light finally? ;)
There's almost no hassles with the bridle (much less than bladders!) and the mixer is easier and faster to tune than it is to set the lines on most bars I've tried :nono: The facts - you has them wrong.

HEY PMU :D
There is a kite that i own that rivals and/or beat all those easily
(Mega power in 8 knots on a non race board strap directional, fast turning, kiteloops, pull you "upwind",higher wind top end)

Have YOU had the chance or pleasure to ride / test a 2012 Core Riot XR2 19M ?????

If not what are you waiting for????......before you give all of us YOUR semingly "up to date" opinion
