Check out this wave in Namibia's skeleton coast, (West Africa)

This wave is about as fickle as it gets! However, make the 20 hour journey, cross the Namibian border, and with about a 5% chance, you might be the lucky few to ever surf this perfect wave, voted the 2nd best wave in the world! Fast, heavy, unforgiving and a board eater. This wave can eat your whole quiver in one session!

No entirely sure, it's definately north of Luderitz (speed trip) Namibia, (about 20hours drive from Cape Town, the surfers or saying it's too fast, and you have to be kelly slater to survive that wave, but, how would a kite change that, the wind pumps in NAM all the time, so whens someone gonna get a 45 seconds barrel with a kite... the big question?

It's about 3 hours north of walvis bay.

I saw it when I travelled Namibia back in 2003. Already dreamed then about doing it with a kite, but at the time it was fully out of reach (I had just started kitesurfing a year ago, kiting with the old C kites (anyone remember the caution kites of the time... Depower? what depower???? :lol:

) and the akward twin tips of the time :wink:

The wind there was not very strong then, though. maybe 10knts or something like that... but I'm sure it's possible to have wind and good wave conditions.... Would love to give it a try once

i was in that general vicinity about 10 years ago. i saw lots of seals, and, i presumed there were sharks....

Cold water and loads of seals, and mega flocks of birds. Sea life looks very healthy and dare I say, very sharky. Big payoff for the hearty souls willing to go through the hassle to get there...
