I have blown out 6 cabrinha customs over the past 2 seasons and figured its time to make my own. I used to shape boards for a smaller company from 2004-2008 so I have a basic understanding of how to shape a board.
My main questions are...
Are there any tips to building very prominant channels? Wakestyle boards are typically ridden finless and need large channels.
Has anyone worked with inserts exclusively for the booted rider? If so, what have you found to work?
For those of you who don't know, a Wakestyle board needs to have heavy rocker, be very stiff, able to be ridden finless, and be able to take a punishment from heavy booted landings as well as slider damage.
Any help would be great. Thanks in advance

cant really help you about the rocker hight or the channels
but i got an idea for the inserts
always keep on wondering why kiteboarding brands make single "nuts" wich they then laminate into the board
in the snowboarding industry you often see a strip of metal which holds all the inserts .
since a wakestyle board is stiff i think it migt be a good idea to make a stip op stainless steel wich makes all the inserts and then laminate this in and drill the inserts after its finished
this way you will have less chance of pulling an insert out .
just my 2 cents

Inserts: make a insert pack, 3-4" of hardwood in the core one side, or from one side to the other 6-8"
heel packs (hard wood under heel)
bottom shaping. layup and press top skin only on table, flip and shape, reglass in bag or build a inverted table (bottoms up!)
rocker 2-25" to 2.5" rocker
