If so than I'm assuming that the Nugget has more rocker......... correct ?
It's been my experience that speed in light wind is very important.......... The sector would be quicker. The nugget is more versatile. If you want something that crosses both more, the freerace is probably a better bet, but it won't be as good on the waves.

Don,
The Sector 54 have with me only two weeks and I don't try it with smaller fins. Some people write that with the sector 52 using smaller fins you lose upwind performance.
The Nugget is more versatile and better in the waves as MissionMan mention, the Sectors are more for light wind and freeride.
I think that no ones buy the Sector thinking to use it as a surfboard. They play on the waves with it but everyone says that the sector don't have the same respond as a surfboard. check mikeBird videos using the Sector and using the Compact and you would notice the difference.
The best way to know which one you like more is to test them the same day but that sometimes is really difficult to happen.
If we enter price and availability to the game, Now the Sector 54 is a board diffcult to find in stock. Same happens with the Nugget when came out. And Sector 54 is more expensive than the Nugget.

Thanks guys for your input............ I guess the decision has been made for me. The Nugget is "out of stock " for the season........ My last question is ........... how much of a difference is there between the sector 52 and the 54 in the way they ride, set-up the same ( fins and foot straps )
Thanks again........Don

The biggest difference between the 52 and 54 are the stock fin setups they are supplied with.
The 52 comes with 4 and there is a LOT of fin for the board, as such it's planing very early and good upwind, but less so rail to rail and off the wind..
The 54 comes with 3 fins and they have quite a bit of rake, plus more upright (less cant), so the board is very good rail to rail and has endless speed and stability off the wind (I can wave ride it with relative ease and enjoyment). It's not as effective upwind though. That sid it does have 5 boxes, so you can set a 54 up like a 4 finned 52.
The best setup with be a 54 with a pair of rear 52 fins as extra, so on the really light days you have a slice of high end upwind and early planing ability, and when the wind pick up swap them for a single back and then you have your carver back!
The 52 is 4 fin only and although you can put smaller fins in it, it never gets as loose at the new 54.

Thanks again........Don I think the 2013 boards hit the shops in about August so if you're not in too much of a hurry it may be worth waiting. I think North release news about the board and kite range in the next 2-3 weeks so you'll be able to see whats different.
