I finally got my load to take me west. On my way thru Wyoming I was lucky enough to have some time to enjoy the treats the Jackson and Driggs Idaho area has to offer. After 3 days of paddling some local rivers, I finally talked my local buds into gettin' on their skiis. I understand that when you live in a winter paradise, you don't get real excited about skiing this late in the season. But when you live in the east and you find yourself being able to get some you get it! We accessed Green Mt from the Idaho side.We were able to drive a truck to the point where I left my snowmachine in Jan. when we got out on Green. We hiked up the Green Mt trail with our skiis on our packs with our boots in their bindings to the snowlevel. Then put our boots on and walked up the frozen snowpack. We started hiking at 6am and reached the summit at 10. Timing was perfect. The snow softened into this awesome Teton corn. I got my kite out and got my sesh I have been needing for some time. After an hour of riding in light winds from the SE, I put my kite away and got 4000 vert of gravity back to my hikers. On to Washington state and hopefully some time on Baker. JR
