The new GTS2 is the most radical kite that CORE has ever built, yet it remains a true 'All-in-One' kite thanks to the revolutionary 'Future-C' Shape. Simply put, it's a kite that can do everything: big airs, powerful wave riding and radical kiteloops, both hooked and unhooked.

The improvement of the original GTS proved a tough nut to crack for the CORE development team. The GTS2 took over 2 years to develop, and created a new kite concept, the 'Future-C'. This shape intelligently combines all the advantages of both a 'C' and a 'High Depower' kite.

Future-C – the future of sporty, comfortable kites

CORE has combined the best of both worlds, and with the 'Future-C' we have developed a kite shape that has radical flight characteristics, whilst still maintaining maximum comfort and safety. The secret to the success of the 'Future-C' is the curve of the leading edge. An intelligent combination of a ‘C’ and an ‘Open C’ kite, it enabled the jumping performance to be further improved, both hooked and unhooked. When hooked, there is a definite increase in lift and hang time, whilst with unhooked tricks, it provides even more pop and better pressure release for landings.

The characteristic square tips provide all the positive attributes of a C-kite such as directness, unhooked suitability and rounded turning behaviour. Negative characteristics of a C-kite, such as poor water relaunch and limited wind range have been successfully ironed out. The lack of stability and lack of early planing ability, associated with an open C kite, have been resolved, with a moderate sweep and a smart profile.

New tip shape and shorter bridles

Direct C-kite feeling, rounded turning behaviour and optimum bar feedback are the result of the new rectangular tip shape and shorter bridles. Also, the ‘Straight Segment Power’ steering tip (SSP) is more pronounced on the GTS2, just like a real C-kite. Since the front and back lines are each attached to a straight segment, steering inputs are converted directly and accurately, perfect for explosive jumps and perfectly timed, harmonious kiteloops. The highly predictable turning radius makes radical kiteloops easier than ever. From hooked-in kiteloops to Beany’s unhooked “Killer Kiteloops,” the GTS2 is a real kiteloop machine.

Wave kiters will be pleased with the precise steering and quick turning ability, yet those that want to park the GTS2 will appreciate its high stability. The bridles are just the right length to combine depower and stability with directness. The pressure point of the GTS2 is always measurable on the bar and always provides feedback as to how much pressure there actually is – no nasty surprises before jumping or in the middle of a cutback.

Optimized Speed Valve and Speed-Pump-System

The 'Speed-Pump-System' has been further improved for even quicker inflation and deflation. The GTS2 makes use of the 'Speed Valve', and therefore has only one valve, which serves as both the inlet and outlet. The direct connection of the pump hose to the bayonet Speed Valve provides more than twice the cross section for maximum air intake and easy pumping, guaranteeing more time on the water.

Safety with the SENSOR-Bar

Safety is provided, as ever, by the virtual fifth line and the SENSOR-Bar. The GTS2 is optimally matched to the SENSOR-BAR, with pressureless release on a virtual fifth line. The instant-launch is typically CORE, simple and perfect.

I had my first experience of Core kites early this year in Egypt, as I swapped kites with a guy at KiteJunkies.

I have to say I liked it a lot really stable and friendly. was not on it long enough to give it a full review. but I remember that I was confident enougth with it to try some new tricks.

I think it was a 12 metre and the wind was light and the water flat. but a joy to ride.

My only quibble if I have to make one, was I thought the Chicken loop looked small. But I don't know enough about Core to know if there is a choice of size etc.

This would also only be an issue for un- hooked moves.

You can buy an optional much larger CL for unhook trick. The regular CL is smaller and it is nice for peoples who don't do unhook moves as the bar is closer to you. This is part of their Pro option :

Wow! Looks like c-shapes are the future after all. Nice looking kite, though I find it strange that a kite which is being advertised as a kite-loop machine (among other things), only shown looping on uber-short lines. Any kite will be a kiteloop monster on lines that short!

It reminds me a bit of the rpm just from standing here and those are short lines on the kite used in the video... 17m maybe?

Must say if I was still into freestyle I would look at trying that kite. I started using Core in my kiteschool this year and well impressed with the build quality, re-launch, wind range and quick release system. I chose the Riot XR and have been using them myself and find they are not only great for teaching but I can't see anybody out-growing them when they start to progress through intermediate into advanced moves.
They come as standard with a small chicken loop so went for changing them to the available larger loop to make it easier to pass the kite from student to student, I also got the longer leashes. the standard bar and lines are ideal if you don't un-hook but it would be difficult to un-hook and hook back in with the smaller loop. The quick release is very effective too which is important to me for teaching on.
At the other end of the kites ability I will be putting this to the test when I get to France to compete in the world speed championships, I will be interested to see the limits, I reckon my own limits will restrict tthe ability of the kite more than the other way around. I am looking forward to playing with the multiple bridal attachments points to find preferences which may or may not be the same as for teaching "slowest turn speed and heaviest bar feel".
I you get chance to try a Core go for it.

Someone should design these inflation points in reverse, everyone always steps down in size preventing easy inflation. Even MAXFLOW gets inserted and you loose 1/4" or so of free flowing air, and toward the end inflation becomes difficult (riding at 8psi). It would be good to insert the pump hose rather than insert the pump hose over something. Free flowing and less obstructions for pumping. These guys are close... next thing we need is a better pump overall..

Nice! I like it! Infact I already like it, I think core are trying to oversell their kite. There is so much going for the kite and the brand, to me, it feels like they are trying too hard. I understand that there is a LOT of competition but I think that kiters are able to spot marketing fluff. We all know that one kite doesn't do everything. I'd like to see them just say, "it's a really good kite and I know you'll love it!"
