Actually I should have been a bit more specific, my kite is wet from rain. I live in the tropics and it's common to have showers pass through in the afternoons, so when I pack away, my kite is usually soaked with fresh water. I think I'll take your advice about leaving my struts inflated and standing it up to dry before packing it away. I wonder if i can buy some bungy to hold it against the balcony rail so it doesn't get blown all over the place. Hmmm... I like this idea! I'll take some photos when I've done it and let you know how it works for me!

In the winter if I fly more than one kite in a day, my small apartment is often filled up with drying kites. I unroll one half for a while, then unroll the other half for a while. If it's daytime I'll even use my bed. I haven't found a better way. Summer is a different story since I can use the yard.

For drying anything blow a fan on it and it will dry much faster. I hang my neoprene and just point a fan on it. Nothing ever smells even though it is fresh water.

A quick wipe on the LE and the struts with a car chamois gets them mostly dry and clean as well. I've been doing this for years and it works well.

I would not wipe the canopy material (because of abrasion), but a bit of a flick with the chamois will get the bulk of the water off makiing the kite quicker to dry at home.

I think this works for schools who will fly their kites regularly, but doesn't work for me. I heard this enough that I stopped drying my kites after salt water sessions, but then I'd still get mildew stains after storage. I think the issue is if you leave them stored up long enough, the salt water will cause non-salt water condensation elsewhere and that will stain. Anyway, that's just a guess, but I know if I store it salt water damp for a week or two, I get stains.

I have garage access, but just drape it over a line and have a fan moving air across the kite. It is dry by morning. Since there isn't a breeze blowing it around the rope doesn't wear the kite at all. I'm sure you could do the same thing inside your apartment... (run a line, blow a fan to keep the air moving)

Put it in the tumble dryer.

if it is covered in fresh water and does not dry it will go moldy. if it is soaked already with rain anyway maybe dip it in sea in case it does not get to dry out properly...? Been through wet kites in a small flat - pain! and the cause of "how the hell am i supposed to take a shower/bath" being shouted at me... lol

Ok, so you feel my pain too! Ha ha ha! if it was just me, a wet kite draped over dining chairs and the ceiling fan on and a shower full of harnesses booties and rash vests would not bother me in the slightest!
