Will you be making any changes to the kite leash? right now with the epic kite leashes when you release them the red piece on the leash can easily get lost since it isn't attached to the leash in any way

Hello Mr.nal51511.
We did some changes 4 months ago on the Kite leashe. Now they have an elastic band that holds it.

Really like the new chicken loop, looking forward to ordering one for my Infinity V1. Does the system work with the Infinity kites as well?

The comment about the 14 minute chicken loop made me laugh out loud, somehow the video was still entertaining though

Hello Mr.JollyGreen,
The new EPIC CHICKEN LOOP will work with any kites in the market that uses 4 lines. Also you will be able to retro fit this new CL with the older 2010 and 2011 XTEND EPIC bars.
The only problem with this new 3G EPIC XTEND bar is that people with short arms will have a hard time reaching the bar this time when they let it go, because the throw is 15 cm longer then the 2010 and 2011 bars. But again it is so hard to keep every body happy. For 3 years we did the bar with a shorter throw, but this year for more depower we decided to add and extra 15cm throw on the bar. But again people with shorter arms will be able to use the STOPPER BALL and leave it to where their arms can reach the bar. Will work on a video (Will try to make it less then 14 minutes)

This is a message I just got today from a kiter concerning the new Chicken Loop and wanted to share this with you.

Hey Dimitri, Joseph of Ikarus here in Playa del carmen...
System looks really good man, Im ordering one to adapt an old bar and line set that I have. TERRIBLE music at the end though..i thought my computer was defragmenting with a nasty trojan virus attack! jeje..must be a Greek thing... anyway, the way the line "feeds" back through is great, but I would hope that you caution all the newbies that they need to be VEEERYY very careful in high winds that all that sharp kite line doesn't get wrapped around their fingers or their NECKS as it slides back through...I hope you tell them that they will VERY RARELY activate and re-set the emergency in the water, that normally they will be MUCH safer just letting the bar away. And that the system is mostly used if they need to do an emergency water rescue (due to broken line, deflating kite, offshore wind situation) OR self landing...where I see it to be MOST useful.
But once again, I really like the simplicity and Im ordering at least one to try it out.
Have one more question for your high amount of experience riding in WAVES Dimitri...
If you drop the kite in the impact zone and you KNOW its going to get hammered by the waves...lets say you even KNOW that you will NOT be able to relaunch and you just want the kite to "survive" the waves the best it can....but you DONT want to eject completely from the kite and lose it...would you just push the bar away OR activate the "one line safety" system? In which configuration do you think the kite will survive the slams of the waves the best?
thanx for any tips and congrats again on a nice, clean system.

Hello Joseph.
Yes you are 100% correct about engaging the CL system. The only time you want to engage the Chicken Loop is if you are in danger and want to totally kill the power of the kite, or if you don't have some one to help you land and your last option is to engage the CL system for landing the kite safe on the beach or water. This won't be an every day thing while you are kiting.
Just think of an AIR BAG in your car its there for emergencies only. But the good thing about this CL system is that you can always put it back in less then 3 seconds and have the kite back up in the air in less then 15 seconds. I know some kiters that never engage a CL in their entire kiting days.
I will do another video about the new system so newbies get a better understanding about when the CL and when to engage it. Because you do have to be careful of the lines while you are reloading the kite.

Now concerning engaging the Chicken Loop in the waves!!!! In the waves I never engage the CL, I just leave it as a suicide system so the waves can pull me and the kite towards the beach. But I do have my hand on the back of my harness where the leash is attached to in case I am getting pulled down under the water and I can't breath. This has happened to me twice in my entire kiting experience. Then I will release the leash so the entire kite is 100% off the hook. In big waves, you don't want to release the CL because if you do so and flag the kite, you will have to be careful of the extra lines that will be around you and you don't want to be tangled in these lines if in case the kite gets pulled by a wave and pulls the lines back in.
That was a great question Joseph. Thank you.

Hello guys,
I have been getting a lot of emails and calls about our new EPIC CHICKEN LOOP and wanted to let you know that we are working on the final stage on this new CL. I just want to make sure that everything is 110% perfect. For example few people wanted to have the 2nd CL to be 10cm longer then the Loop that is on the Chicken Loop. Also we decided to put an "elastic band" inside the "Red Kill Switch line" in order to release easier with no restriction on the ring that connects to the LOOP, plus few other minor things that will make this new EPIC BAR just incredible. I just want to make sure everything is working perfectly.
Once the CL, LOOP, XTREND BAR, RED LINE, STOPPER LINE, DEPOWER STRAP, and so on are ready, then will put these through production. So please give us at least 5 weeks to make sure everything is working the way I want it so you guys can be very happy with the final product.
Should have the final prototype ready in 10 days and from there will start the production run.
I will also make few videos showing you how to retro fit this new CL with the other 2010 & 2011 bars (it is very easy but you never know). Plus, will make another video with how the RED STOPPER works and how to change the (M) loop with the (L) loop, so you guys can get a better understanding on how everything works.

Hello Caesar,
This is a picture of me using the STOPPER ball while doing a "no hand" jump. I am working on the "STOPPER BALL" video. But as you can see you don't need the "mini loop" that North has. This is actually very dangerous because you are lock in and if something happens you won't be able to get out in time.

hi
one question: is the black stopperball attached to the topend of the red safetyline running through the hole in the bar when you kill the kite or does it stop there and only the one frontline does run through it?

Kind regards - andreas

Hello Mr.HOLDEA,
The Black Stopper ball doesn't go through the hole of the bar. But the entire middle goes through and that is how it flags the kite. I don't know if you had the chance to check the video but if you do I think you will have a better understanding of the entire system.

Dimitri,

In this picture below, we can see Cameron using a waist harness and we clearly see that the bar trim seem out of reach for him. So my question is how can smaller person or anyone with shorter arms will be able to reach the trim when riding so they can adjust on demand the power of their kite? Do you plan on using an extension to the straps?
