here´s a few (not complete):

nobody to stop him, beacause the locals have so much trouble to advice people. new comers are very agressive when some one want to explain them that the condition are not good for kite.

So the fact are.
Huge horizontal jump
crash landing on a women and kid. eating on the car park close the camping car
The mum still in the coma today between live and death
The kid is ok with somes teeth left
The kiter didn't feel his legs.
Almanarre council should ban kite

conclusion
RESPECT THE LOCAL ADVICE.
if they ride the spot, it's not sure you can

all my minds for the familly of both.

Edit: the St. Peter Ording kitesurfing incident (there have been 2 buggy kiting accidents as well)

I must have pressed a wrong button on my computer and lost the list i tried to present here first.
There was another one at St. Pter Ording, Germany and a severe bad injury of a woman by a kitesurfer in south France i know of.

I don´t see how we can hope to log all kitesurfing related accidents. I do stumble over "unknown" accidents and incidents, close calls that could easily have been fatal and even severe injuries every now and then.

You're right, we can't possibly log everything, but we also can't believe every rumor that doesn't have some facts to back it up. I have seen enough accident reports here to know there are typically 3-4 separate rumor threads before the actual facts crop up.

You seem to have the international scene covered, that's more incidents than in the US and that makes a half-dozen bystanders injured (buggiers are a separate class). Good to have that info so that guys can think about the consequences. But it's still far far less than the number of kitesurfers injured, and how many rescues on the international scene haven't been posted here?

Don't try to imply that I'm not concerned about bystanders - there's absolutely no justification for any of us to put them at risk, and that's a super-sensitive area for local authorities. But the fact is that bystanders (I prefer "spectators" or at least "beachgoers") aren't in nearly as much risk from us as they are from a whole lot of other things.

I wouldn't get all fact-c if you're looking to spin it.

It is quite interesting that the land is the hammer for all us and our strung chums--bam, yet the safest place for just the plain folk to stand around and watch it all go down,

If you say so I guess?

we ought to push a few more in the drink to fish em out with a smile....

I mean, flip a few more babies and we'll need the credits...

nice work guys..

I know you'll come back to re-read how you've been so unfairly victimized by me.

KNOW THIS: everything you accuse me of: e.g. lampooning, being crude etc. and your stand ins accuse me of e.g. whining being the most notable.

YOU ARE GUILTY OF in your post !!!! true isn't it?

You claim to to post here as a way of resolving problems through exchanging points of view, yet when I present the alternate view you fail to engage on topic,

and remain silent on the actual issue---only to finally resort to slanders..see you post above.

this is why you fail as a spokesman, you are unwilling to accept or address even the slightest criticism, read: you lack the requisite objectivity to be an analytical--

you pout in silence then attack. the messenger as vulgar---

that's vulgarity itself defined !!!!

Yea, that's a fact jack.

my focus is on seeing thing for what they are...that's not a thing to be sorry about.

engage me on the specific items if you feel I've misunderstood you...

that would at least validate your claim for being here to resolve our problems

no biggie, just thought I should point that out for you...

You seemed to have missed that part
carry-on
fo

I'm not kidding you,

I mean what I say, I've nothing to take back, or feel regret for...

defending kiting is tough, there is no other sport with a such a subtle, innocent looking, come hither draw with such a lethal potential...

a sport that defies explanation as to why experienced guys that do know better, find themselves slammed into cars, walls, buildings...you name it

These are not rare isolated events, they are all too common.

Am I saying don't kite?

No, I'm saying don't try to sell it.

go ahead, quote a few of my kite related posts and address them, attacking me personally or looking for sympathy for working at something claim as your hobby simply carries no weight with me.

Boo Hoo ?

engage me on topic...

check my profile, the topics are listed.

It's an open invitation, anyone is free to talk kiting with me.
I'm right here

Best regards

What's interesting to me about these old posts that people keep digging up is that they are filled by with posters who seem to know what they are talking about but do not post any more. Where did they go? Do they still kite? If so, why exit the forum?
