I would like to hear from anybody familiar with the Slingy Coupe 6' 0" Directional. I'm 5' 10" tall and 175 pounds, been kiting a long time, have ridden strapless a little bit but it's time I learn how to Jibe and Tack a directional. Gonna go strapless in the local lakes and play around until I get the hang of it. After that, I will ride most of the time in lakes and once and a while in Corpus Christi Texas Gulf waves, which are relatively small, close together and messy, onshore wind with some side on. The Coupe got discontinued for 2012 so I assume they did not sell well, but the size and shape of the board look pretty good, so the twin fin thing obviously held back sales. So, please school me about a twin fin board. Thanks for any useful input.

Light wind or small waves i'd look at the 5"11 Celeritas. Awesome board strapless and great to also learn on as well.

The Celeritas is clearly a good choice but they are $800 and sold out. . Would love to hear from any Coupe riders. Thanks!

No input on those boards, but big++++ to learning the transitions on a sb. Jybes will come quick and you will always have that as a fall back when the pressure is on, but the real eureka moment came when I learned to tack! So great to gain upwind ground by chunks just bleeding off speed before the zero loss tack. Get it dialed, have fun doing it and forget worrying about upwind ever again! Leads to all kinds of progression.
