Since you are talking about these extreme kitesizes for 67kg Most around here with "all winds" typicallly dont have bigger than max 10 or 11m2 when 67kg, and of course smaller sizes. Sorry if you have written that earlier - I just missed it then... 67kg and a 15m2 ? Sounds extreme But the 11 and an 8 to come (dont go 7, way too big a gap), sounds good if you have normal "changing" winds Peter Peter how about that for extreme...my 50kg rides a 17M in LW in 8/9/10/11/12/13 knots I guess the LATITUDES where we each live has something to do about what BIG kite means

I was simply asking the original poster Mark about where he kitesurfs, since choosing such extreme kitesize relative to weight ? (and yes, we know now that you live in an "almost-no-wind-always" spot Supaez) Peter

There are a couple of reasons in addition to those others have already posted. I live a good drive from my local spot and when i make the effort to go there i want to be able to kite especially if i see someone else on the water. I consider myself a light wind guru with a kite and although i don't currently have a board bigger than 126 i think i will be on the water when anyone else is. If the wind drops on the lake there is no current or waves to bring you home so something to carry me through the lulls is also a concern as the wind can be light/variable/gusty. Thanks for posting your concerns. Mark

I got to try the low end of my "south Florida summer combo" yesterday. LF Envy 15 with Airush Sector 60. The actual wind on the beach was averaging about 8 with some huge gusts to 11 or 12 (had to reverse launch it myself as apparently no other kiters were even going to bother heading to the beach). That board is a session saver. I have gone out in similar wind on my 6'2 custom global, but could barely even get up on plane and spent half an hour tea bagging it before packing it up. Granted, I'm mostly just mowing the lawn in these conditions, but being out on the water beats sitting on the beach for me any day. Spending some $$$ on a board that is designed for light wind is probably the best gear choice I could have made given the conditions here, and I think this board remains usable for a much greater range than something like a huge door TT style board. I would give some serous consideration to adding something like this to your quiver to complement the new kites.

Dimitri M wrote: Hello tractionmanuk, I can see that you have been getting a lot of help from every body about your post and this is why we have this forum. But again make sure to demo the kites before you buy them. Also a good size kite will be SCREAMER 10 LTD (18 to 32 knots) and the SCREAMER 14 (12 to 20 knots). Then later, you can get a SCREAMER 7 for stronger winds. Or go with the SCREAMER 9 (20 to 38 knots) and SCREAMER 14. The SCREAMERS are more advance kites for people that like to jump very high and hang up in the air for a long time. These are my free style kites. Or you can also go with the RENEGADE 9 (18 to 30 knots) and the RENEGADE 13 (13 to 22 knots). The RENEGADES are the all around kites but for me they are my wave kites.
P.S. This also depends on what board you are using. Mr. Dimitri If you read the thread you would see that the OP has already purchased his kites. So great attempt on pimping but you are too late. Also, if you read the thread you would see that you were the only kite company to get on here and push your product onto someone who was not even asking for advise of what make of kites to buy. So is this how its going to be? We leave you alone on your Epic threads you get bored and start pimping on non Epic related threads? Do you need some excitement over there... ? what no wind today? You are a piece of work. Pete

Hello Peter, No wind today thank God plus recovering from a shoulder injury that won't go away, but on the other hand, I am finishing the EPIC ATTACK video part 3 & 4 hopefully you will enjoy them. Also I did see that Mr. tractionmanuk purchased his kite but wanted to make sure that he gets a chance to try all the kites possible he can get his hands on such as NORTH, NAISH, OZONE, CABRINHA, BEST, SLINGSHOT, AIRUSH, and so on....so he can make the right choice. I have witnessed this so many times on the beach, and that is the reason why I want him to make sure he gets the right quiver. So once again I am sorry I have offended you by posting something on this thread trying to help Mr.tractionmanuk choosing his new quiver of kites. Plus you are welcome to join the EPIC thread again, why did you leave!!! So please come back, I need more inputs. Thank you.
P.S. Also the reason you did not see any other kite company owners on this thread trying to help him is probably because they don't really care too much about their fellow kiters like I do. Why do you think I started EPIC kites!!!!
