Thanks a lot guys. Btw I recently came across the following term and I'm not sure what it means - "low end torque" - any ideas? It seems to describe the kite control and moments?
Hi guys, I’m doing some research into kitesurfing and I’d like to know what do you hate about the current kite designs (it can be detailed imperfections or very general problems). Let me start off with a few issues, I think are causing people headaches: - Kite control (I noticed most kitesurfers don’t like slow/sluggish kites but more direct responding ones) - Wind speed range (having to buy many kites to make sure you cover all wind speeds) - Setup time and needing help with initial launch. I’d like to get as much info on this as possible, please let me know if these really are the main issues in kitesurfing and please feel free to add your own frustrations. Thanks guys, Greg
I think every kite should be designed to easily and consistently self launch and land , i notice when i self launch my kite there is some drag on the beach on some areas of the kite that hasnt been bulked up to take such abrasion ...
i tend to kite with one friend , and i usually launch him and then self launch myself and join him on the water , so having a kite thats durable enough to take that kind of abrasion consistently i think is important
one of the worst things , is not being able to find a durable waterproof mp3 player , i've been through 3 of the speedos already.
as for the heat in cars damaging valves overtime , my car was broken into and kite and camera stolen so i will never leave gear in my car again even in a 'secure' location.
hate kiting with ppl who act like they know everythingand well experience , only to find out they need help with almost everything.

This is an idea to reduce the sliding. Idea is to pile the sand up behind the point the kite will naturally pivot about. Pile it to near the top of the leading edge. Plan is the kite will rotate about it and then just flip up onto its side.

Hello.
Yes, as you mentioned some of these things can be an issue and cause some headaches. We have felt the same many times which is why we came up with some equipment that we hope might help fellow Kiters, as it has helped improve our time and comfort.
If you have a chance check out our new design Control Bar with its unimpeded center bar access, the Stealth Bar will provide riders with a more comfortable and balanced-control kite boarding experience.
We also have a Quick Connect kite line winder which should help you to connect to your kite with less hassle and is Ideal for small launch sites and/or crowded beaches.
Both these items are on sale at our website and we also have several videos on them.

Thanks, G
I think "low end torque" means the same as low end or light wind pull, (important for large size) what I've seen people are using on KF.

People asking retarded questions about the sport.
I just don't people who can't go kitesurfing without a frickin MP3 player! Defeats the purpose of getting outside and enjoying the elements. Why do you need a bloody soundtrack for everything...HAVE A WORD WITH YOURSELF

Haha agreed, I hate going to the skatepark with my friends because they all just tune everything out immediately, it's like wtf did I bring you for I may as well skate by myself. Best part about kiteboarding is it's very difficult to listen to music
My biggest gripe with the sport at the moment is the marketing, there's so much BS put out about kites, especially by the paid reviewers like the magazines. When you can't demo gear and need new stuff, the only thing you have to go on are reviews, and half (or more) of them are fake.
