I need some help on the selection of a new board. I weight 75 kg, can go up wind, and am starting to do little jumps. I currently have a naish 5.5 mutant which is good fun in a broad range of winds, but is bugger to jibe. I want to go for the easy option and get a twin tip/bi-directional, I want a board which is not to much of a jump from the mutant, but will stay with me as I progress. I would intend to keep the mutant for the light wind days and when I want to learn how to jibe. ?Any advice, thanks alot

I ride and am very happy with the SlingShot skate series. I originally started out on a directional board myself, and then moved onto twintips. I have since added the Doyle Surf Morph to my quiver because I liked riding my directional board and wanted to get another. I am super happy with it too. It's cool too because you can change it from a directional board to a twintip in about 5 or 10 minutes and a few screws.
Anyway, if possible, try before you buy. That's always the best route.

Dude. I say this to so many people. Try everything you can. Ride every friends board. Go to the demo centers....beg borrow rent steal but there is a board you will love way more than anything else. Ask anyone who is stokked on his gear and regardless of what hes ridding he will rave about it if he likes it. Diferent tastes.

yes Royce, good point.
Test as much as you can and don't buy without trying.

The problem is that I live in Baku, Azerbaijan. The only test centres they have are for Lada's and hua houses.

Nice. Lada? Small climbing device? How good are you and how much do you weigh?

Tell us what brands you can buy and get warranty service on. We will advise you from that list. There are too many good choices to name, and any brand can have a warranty problem.

There is one other kite surfer, an American bloke you has just started. Other than that we are probably the only kite surfers in the whole of the Caspian.
I would buy the board from the UK and get a mate to bring it out on a flight.
A Lada is a crappy Soviet car like a toaster with wheels.
