Introducing the 2013 Cabrinha line

Sometimes the littlest ideas can manifest into the biggest innovations. At Cabrinha we are all about little ideas and big innovations. Our product range has evolved year after year into a model of minimalist design. The innovations are so cleverly concealed inside ergonomic forms that you’d have to look closely to identify the numerous features that are seamlessly baked in.

Take our 2013 QuickLink Control system for example. We have taken the industry’s leading control system and improved it yet again. But we’ve done this without adding anything to the exterior. In fact we have even taken something away. The connection of the QuickLink is now much easier to reconnect thanks to a simple little innovation literally etched into the system.

We carry that minimalist philosophy right through our kite design process to deliver a Skeletal Frame construction that strategically places different weight materials into their optimum locations. This delivers a balanced, light weight and highly durable kite.

The Skeletal Frame technology is used in all of our kites including the all-new Chaos competition freestyle kite. The Chaos is a bridled C Kite designed for the core freestyle competitor with the sole intent of getting themselves on the podium.

Our entire range of twin tips has seen an ‘across the board’ upgrade in shapes and construction. We’ve built upon our foundation of solid rides and have added durable bases and rails to the mix.

The Surf range has been widened to provide more freedom of choice. Each and every surfboard design now comes in either our super durable Eco Cork + Bamboo sandwich construction or our light weight Signature series which is a pro level PU construction without footstraps.

At Cabrinha we strive to put the absolute best products in the hands of the rider no matter what their level is. From the touring pro to the first time rider, each Cabrinha customer gets our commitment that the product they are riding is made from the highest quality materials and construction techniques in the industry.

We are purveyors of innovation and inspiration. Our products are designed to deliver an experience as much as they are designed for a specific use. Your relentless enthusiasm is oxygen for our motivation. We'll see you on the water.

Chaos
The Chaos is Cabrinha’s all new competition freestyle kite. This kite is dedicated to one thing, delivering the absolute best performance in freestyle competition. Designed with PKRA superstar Alberto Rondina, this bridled C kite represents the progression taking place in today’s touring freestyle arena. Lets be clear, this technical performance kite is not for everyone. It won’t mow your lawn. It won’t leave you dangling. But if you are looking to get on the podium at freestyle competitions then this is your kite.

Siren Collection by Cabrinha
We understand there are differences between the girls and the guys. So this year we developed the industries first all women’s kite line. Inspired by Susi Mai the siren collection not only looks pretty but also delivers real advantages for a smaller frame while performing at the highest technical levels.

Switchblade
There are very few cases in the world of kite design where high performance and ease of use collide. The Switchblade is just one of those rare cases. The Switchblade is the worlds premier wakestyle kite. Powering the likes of Andre Phillip to legendary status in his pursuit of core wakestyle riding. One of the elements that make this kite so perfect for wakestyle riding AND all round freestyle riding is its predictability. It has pitch perfect balance when riding unhooked and a light bar pressure when riding hooked in. The Switchblade has undergone a few strategic improvements in 2013 to enhance its efficiency and turning speed (especially in the larger sizes) without compromising the legendary “feel” that has made the Switchblade the world best selling kite model.

Drifter
In 2012 the Drifter surf kite was a breakaway success. Surfers worldwide have now come to know the benefits of “drift stability”. Drift stability, one of the Drifter’s prominent features, is the kites ability to stay afloat and drift downwind when the kite is depowered. This so called slack line drift function allow the rider to power into the wave, then shut the kite power down and surf as if the kite was not even there. When the rider needs to power back up the kite is quick to reengage and power the rider to the next section. The Drifter’s hybrid design is slightly more upright and compact in shape. This make the Drifter turn on a dime, and power and depower on command. When the wind conditions are marginal and you need to steer the kite a lot, the Drifter will surgically place the kite where you need it exactly when you need it.

Crossbow LW
The Crossbow, now in its 7th edition sits at the top of the list as being the most efficient kite in our range. Its improved light wind performance can be attributed in part to its new lighter weight design. We’ve reduced the number of struts and have distributed the Dacron sparingly and more efficiently. Thus earning its new designation as the Crossbow LW (Light Weight). The Crossbow’s bow kite design is another factor in providing a wide wind range and light wind performance. The bow kite design allows us to produce a high aspect kite with a flatter arc which delivers more power per square meter than a non bow kite. This power is easily controlled by our trademark Depower on Demand. A type of control that allows the rider to precisely control the power of the kite. Whether you are serious about racing or serious about having as much fun as possible in extremely light winds the Crossbow LW will deliver.

Vector
The Vector is a performance 3 strut kite in simple minimalist package. With the Vector there is nothing getting between you and an amazing kitesurfing experience. The Vector’s hybrid design is perfect for Universal Riding. That means its perfect for surf, freestyle, or wakestyle. The Vector has a robust construction, using all of the same materials and components in our much higher end kites. We’ve stripped down the non essentials, giving you the option to upgrade as you feel necessary.

it is nothing to look at really.

how does someone make the presentation of the kite range and kite itself on the photos is just a speck of paint?

because it only matters if the paint is and the materials come down to the bar on new kites only?

I can't believe they actually used "light bar pressure" to describe the switchblade.

Rode the SB 8m and 12m, and have to say I was super impressed. Despite the typical marketing from kite companies I must say it truly had less bar pressure, turned faster than 2012 and relaunched super easy! was a sweet kite! :thumb: :thumb:

A lot of it was shot in Eustatia Sound off Bitter End Yacht Club on Virgin Gorda in the BVI.

I understand they reduced the bar pressure on the Switchblade this year. Demo the gear and form your own impression.
