but the bigger question is who is the hottest olympic chick? definately not the weight lifters or boxers. the 100m sprinters could crack acorns with their butt cheeks.... hockey players... not to bad.
Not to many but ugly kitesurfing chicks tho. so at the very least they will be increasing the hottness level of the olympics by competing. So far the most thoughtful. compelling arguement. I retract my comments about course racing being boring, bring on the hot course racing chicks

Yet there is some truth, just how one rider, one mistake, one gear failure and the fleet gets taken out. But this occurs in the peloton in cycling as well.
Racers-how about one rider on the course at a time, against the clock? riders could be staggered, starting every 30 seconds. This is what always crosses my mind. I have never been to a race yet. I have heard that it descends into a....ummmm....a dirty scene where the most arrogant angry prick can cut off his nemesis with his lines and people start getting ugly, yelling. I am not sure if that sounds fun. Stagger them out, yeah it must be more boring and technical. But the fastest kiter will rise to the top, not the biggest a-hole (as in surfing). Oh shit, I am way off topic. Amit Inbar, yeah he sucks for sure....

I know Amit personally. you guys got it all wrong. Amit owns the biggest kiteschool in Israel and will only profit from kite racing being in the olympics. He has lots of experience in windsurf and kitesurf (and SUP) and is a really cool guy. he is just stating his opinion, which many agree with.

As I understand, the ISAF have been charged with making sailing much more of a dynamic event, or they and the whole sailing division is out.. Hardcore.. but then, watching the boat racing is hardly entertaining for the masses on sofas..
The more people bang on about kite racing and the more press they give it, saying it's hardcore, dangerous, then the more popular it's going to get, the more ISAF will love it, the more people will tune in and watch...
we know the truth, let the bad press continue! Keep digging Amit, we'll hand you a shovel!
And anyway, if they had any sense they should be petitioning to get a boat class relegated to get windsurfing back in....
Fat lady sings in November as I understand?

Don't think so if you don't (like he doesn't) know kiteboard racing then don't hold your hand up to the rest of the World as an expert. FYI an ignorant position is a prejudice one.

well i have not done one race on the water. but i've done plenty of kite buggy/landboard races. and i can say that the novices go hell for leather and crash kites everywhere but the experienced stay well away from having tangles. As soon as you have a tangle your race is over.
So by the time we get a group of dudes at the olympics they will be the cream of the crop and highly practiced. They will be avoiding tangles like the plague. I'd be very suprized to see a full on tangle fest at the olympics.
I think anyone suggesting there will be hasn't done that much racing.

Amit is a true waterman, with lot more experience than you think, in all aspects ! He does own the biggest school in Israel and one of the biggest shops, so i guess he has got no interest in lowering his sales, as he would only earn if race will grow.
He is not windsurfing anymore, and is not invlolved in that industry, niether train anyone ATM as far as i know, so i guess this is only his true opinion.

Pride (the feeling, not neil-pryde ), rather than business, seems to be the issue for his declarations IMO. I'm not saying business is not what's really behind all this RSX-ISAF (ex)partnership... just not in this particular champion's words. Pride is powerful stuff. Imagine an old man trying to explain to his grandson that the medal he won in the Olympics relates to a discipline that has been deliberately extinguished. Utmost respect for his medal, not for his biased declarations.
