The reason I don't drive down to six mile to camp is firstly I sold my c-class RV in favor of a small tow behind rig.....gas mileage reasons---haven't found the right one yet.

secondly it's fucking miserable down there at night, I know because I been camping down there for over a decade...and now there's always some d-wad running a generator all night too...

the good old days are over now...have been for five years..

thirdly because the spot is now full of party people from Vegas, and the thump thump of rap music typically goes till dawn... loud too!!


fourthly because of all the drunken fights that start in the middle of the night now....

fifthly because the monsoon is now in, and that kills the thermals...

They Drop the water level at Mohave ,((EVERY YEAR)) around October.
They drop it about 15-20ft ; making 9-mile "the spot" !!

Everything down-wind of 9-mile becomes this Beautiful bail-out
even in a 35 - 40, because the cliffs make a wind-gradient as the
shore-line is now 100+ feet from the cliff edge and it bends to make
the walk of shame quite easy, if things go wrong. The North wind will
be a 1/4 On-shore direction because of the beach position,(unlike 6-mile)
which is Off-shore in a North

Even Melli has done it in the lighter morning stuff you describe.
In Winds 40-45mph, we usually hold off till afternoon when it mellows
a bit , to a nice 35.
