I did my first attemps to perform a nose dive during my last kite session.

The trick Brandon Scheid does at 00:15 in this video

https://vimeo.com/46638361

But I can't say that I was very successful... it feels like I will wreck my knees if I dive the nose of the board in the water. My fins are about 1.5 inches high. I understand that it´s easier if you ride on a board without fins, but it should be possible with fins as well, right?

Can someone perhaps give me some advice on how to make a nose dive? :)

butters

with straps Im assuming? the trick is easy, your fins are screwing u up. 1.5" are huge. with .8" fins and straps its difficult for me and puts pressure on knees for sure and limits the distance I can travel. boots give you a better ability to drive the board and get away with much more with fins, but they are not needed

think about it, those fins are 90 degrees to direction of travel, that is a lot of resistance.

a board with a big tip/tail also gives you more surface area to press
lose the fins to learn, then put on the smallest fins you can ride with normally, something in the .5"-1" range, and give it a whirl

with my twin-skim strapped and finless I I can ride buttered up all day long

start with a a tail press in the direction of travel to get the feel of leaning back and still having enough board engaged with the water to maintain planing. Then move to perpendicular without much angle to your body and board. Then add more angle and resistance
