Why is it that 95% of kite product trailers/clips focus solely on the guys riding waves and doing jumps, and u probably get 5% footage of the kite itself , i'd rather see a panned out shot of the surfer with the kite in frame, so i actually see how the kite is performing.
Most of the product trailers are extremely well shot and cool editing etc. but i just wish we saw more of the ACTUAL kite flying, turning, crashing and relaunching
most of us can't land those kinda tricks , i'd like to see how the kite reacts when i wipe out !

yeah, brands probably trying not to reveal details about wing shape, profile and bridles! they put some lightest rider (who pretty much can ride any piece of cloth) do the tricks in perfect conditions with as many takes as they can, later heavy editing and it is ready.
same goes to the kite pictures on brands websites. just sterile computer graphics.
well i know i'm not going to make any decisions based on their clips and pictures
Agreed - mostly you see the rider not the kite. You never see relaunches in deep water. Often dont see launching and landing. Dont see the kite looping.
The best video would be POV from around the riders chest or head, putting the kite through most of the things it was designed to do.
It should be boring documentary style instead of the soap powder style used now.
I'm convinced the brands cheat using a different kite (can even be of a different brand). And the dumb consumer just believes it. the big brands (North, Cabrinha, Naish) have too much to lose.
Only a few brands actually show the kite and the board/kitesurfer in one shot: Switch kites
You see the kite drift, but no turning - so I wondered if the kite could turn too ? Something required for wave riding (in my case) At 53 sec the kite is jelly-fishing - not exactly what I want for a kite - if it jellyfishes already in the promotion in steady ocean winds then how would this kite behave in gusty winds? It promotes the boards very well as you see many wave boards turning in hollow (still easy) waves. What kite they were using is unsure. Takoon , Zeeko, F-One, Best, BWS, Slingshot ?
