I am looking at buying some 2011 havocs and can't seem to find too much in terms of reviews on this kite. Who has ridden them and what is the general thoughts on these kites (good or bad)? I have owned wainman's (I thought that they are great kites), Kahoona's (not a big fan), Hifi's (nice kite), Waroo (still one of my favorites), and Eclipse kites (okay kites). I am looking for a good freeride kite that will do it all. I have considered the envy but it is a great deal on these kites. I have also considered buying rebels as well so any input would be great.

Demoing is unfortunately not an option so it is the good ole fashion inquire and than buy before you try scenario for me.

havocs are nice. Bombproof construction. Not a fan of the below the bar depower. Not the best lightwind machines but perform well once it's blowing. Check out Ozone. The edge's are awesome!

Have to disagree, they're very powerful kites and have great low end grunt. I would say 12m from about 10 knots you are powered

The below the bar depower is kind of difficult, true. the 2012 and 2013 I found to be MUCH better, as easy to trim as above the bar depower systems are.

I would ride a 12m at the biggest though, above that they start to get kind of heavy and aren't the most stable - they improved this with the 14m and 16m light breeze versions of the NRG

you can probably find a 2012 nrg super cheap as well, I would look into that because it does everything the havoc did but feels more refined, easier relaunch (though havoc relaunch is still super easy), more stable in bigger sizes etc

havoc 8m and 10m are my favorite sizes

good luck!

So a 14M would be not a great choice than? I am looking at a 6/10 or a 8/10/14 combo. I am 200lbs and 6ft tall.

If you are going to buy 3 kites, I would probably spend the extra money on the 14 light breeze from 2012, and you could still get the 2011 8 and 10 if thats a really good deal. if not, it's still not a bad size just not as good as the others. if you ended up getting it you would probably be happy.

Thanks for the imput and I am debating if I just need to pick up a 8/10 or buy all three. I am getting a great deal and will probably buy all 3.

Yeah I'm sure that would be fine, I just wanted to give an honest review. They're still great kites
