Lib Tech Waterboards

Postby jrad » Mon Aug 13, 2012 8:08 pm

Has anyone ridden, held, or seen one of these boards. They claim they are tough as nails, and they look cool. The materials are all new never used in production boards before. I'm wondering if they would stand up to the punishment dished out while kiting.

Thanks

I dunno, that technology video was super lame. Makes them look like they are not serious about their product. Now it is all tech jargon for the sake of tech jargon. To me the boards went from interesting to f-no when I saw the video.

LibTech has made EXTREMELY durable snowboards for years, and snowboards take a massive beating.
They also have done some very, very innovative things, as far as construction and performance advancements, especially for a smaller company.
Made the the big snowboard companies look like they were asleep at the wheel.
If they are making waterboards, you can bet they will do it right.
And best of all, they are not a Naish. jk,jk,jk
Taut - think again, the owner of this company has a big, big brain and has been around the block twenty times, he knows his shit. Check this vid to get some history.

lol, that is bollocks tho. They stereotype, very badly a Hawaiian, with a guy who is *eating* seaweed...it is borderline racist....it is so badly done.

On the tech jargon, all they really need to do is to explain what the terms mean. In the video they merely repeat them, which does not really say anything about the technology. Again the boards would have looked interesting to me if it wasn't for the video.

..that is the video they should have presented. It provides a lot of context.
The video they do present as their technology video is just annoying.

Here is the tech vid

I dunno maybe it is just that kind of a day for me:

Other than the guy with 6987 posts, that feels the need to chime in on everything. The question is wether or not you have ridden one, or seen one up close, I havent, I want to know if they seem suitable for kiting. Not if you went to the site and didn't like the video presentation. Seems like this site if full of dicks with nothing better to do than get involved in every post. Looks like I'll just have to pull the trigger on one then report back. Thanks for the review of the video.

They are a small company, I would guess you could call them and ask if any of their people kiteboard.
Find out whether any of their shaping has had any consideration for kiting.
My gut says they are pretty good boards.
I wish they had decided to get into the twintip business also, that would have been very easy for them, with their history of innovation and quality.....and made in the USA.
