Funny. When the review of the new Rally came out on gleiten.tv some days ago I thought about starting quite exactly this thread. Was just too lazy. I had seen the new product video of the Rally and found it quite lame and couldnt believe that there was nothing in it where I could see how the kite turns. Then I saw the gleiten.tv-review (
http://gleiten.tv/index.php/video/action/view/page/345/v/730/?SGL_CMS_SESSID=ra4ug5s0bcegpdn7d9b3nrn5t3&/1/) and now I have a much better idea how the kite behaves in tight turns. I am interested in the 9 and the turning of it looks great for a surfboard.
I agree that promotion videos have to be sexy. Thats why I like to watch them sometimes even if I am not interested in the product at all. But why cant they show us how a kite behaves in a kite-product video?
i remember James May on Top Gear said once , said it was ridiculous that car companies are testing all their cars on the nurburgring , because all their suspensions these days are trying to be sporty and resulting in being extremely uncomfortable on normal roads ... yeh i agree they have to be sexy ... but instead of bragging that FINAL TESTING was done in the perfect conditions of Maui , how bout final testing done in the worst of conditions instead of the best of conditions , just a personal opinion i think that would impress me more , documenting the kite performing in shitty conditions ...
i agree i love to watch most trailers mainly for the excitement rather than examining the actual kite .. it would be cool if kite companies had a system like clothing companies , u can order a demo kite to use for a day or two to see if u like it and see if it's suitable in your area before committing to buy it , that would be very hard to manage obviously .. in a dream world again
