I need some help changing the trim line on my 2011 bar. I got the old one off no big deal but can't get the stopper ball back on the new trim line.

Any suggestions on how to get the stopper ball sleeve onto the trim line? Somehow you have to pull the rope threw the sleeve but the rope is too big to go threw.

Can you heat the sleeve up so it's softer?

Plus I forgot to see which way the sliding stopper goes on the line. There is one end that is more rounded than the other... Does that point towards the bar or away?

Any help would be great.

Ok I figured most of it out...

Now the only problem is that when I tighten the screw in the stopper ball it goes right threw the sleeve/spacer. That puts the set screw right against the trim line, which does not seem good.

How do I tighten the set screw without going threw the sleeve?

What is the stopper ball on the trim line for, anyway? I have got the 2010 bar which only has the sliding stopper. It stays in place whereever I put it.

Do you have pics?
Could you slide a small piece of plastic under it? I think what happens might be that initially the screw does not go through the plastic of the stopper, but that it might have penetrated now?

Honestly don't know what the stopper ball is for, must be something about safety.

I think I'm going to cut the old one up and stick it in there. Maybe I don't need to tighten it as much either.

No pics but must be like all stopper balls.

Maybe the stopper ball is to keep you from depowering the kite too much.

Is it the kind of square one? almost all the way up? If so I think it is for people with short arms that have the bar slide out of reach..though they could just pull both front lines.... I always take it off my bars.

It does prevent you from depowering the kite too much, but I took both mine off last time I changed the trim line and have never ever missed it :)

Depowering the kite too much through hauling in the line through the cleat too much? That is something you should regulate by yourself. Depowering the kite too much by sheeting out? This you manage with the sliding stopper. I would not bother and take it off.

Yeah took the round fixed one off but leaving the squareish movable one... I use that every once and a while.

Thanks
