I live a bit further north - Norway ;) And kite on water all winter though. Even when there is ice and snow on the ground. The Ion Fusion did the trick for me, super warm! 4mm neoprene dry suit. But some of my friends have 6-7mm surf suites. Only use the suit till november, and then maybe a thin wool underneath des, jan, febr, mach. The hands are the only place were I´m still looking for a good solution, but as long as you´re really warm on you´re body it helps.
Wintertime are great - the spots are all free of people :D

I wore my NPX 6/5/4 "Wind skin" in January and February this past winter here in Ontario. Lake Erie was 3C and air temp was around 8C both times. I was toasty warm. February session was blowing 30knots.

I am thinking about a ocean rodeo surf dry, but it will have to wait till next year since I just bought two kites :D

Great feedback, thx all.

I been digging around the forum and found out some of following could be interesting, there are much more options tough, I have narrowed it down a lot. These are candidates for me based on reliability for kitesurfing and ease of use.
- Ion. Good reviews but the price is high for me
- Ocean rodeo Pyro pro gets good reviews. Prise somewhat lower then Ion.
- Gul enforcer or similar. Good reviews, and very good price.

Mystic gets poor reviews on reliability and customer service...so no go.

I do not care much about looks, just the functionality and reliability. And of course the price makes a big diff. I found Gul to be priced nicely here,
http://www.wetsuitoutlet.co.uk/mens-c-28_97_99.html

so I might go for this one.

Gul Enforcer is the best for cold winters. I'm using it for 3 years now and still like it. When its not freezing I can ride...

I saw this on the OR forum..
"The Pyro Pro and the Surf Dry are now both officially being sold down and cleared out to make way for a total re-vamp of the drysuit line up. The Soul is the vanguard of this overhaul. Expect a newer version of the Surf Dry (3.0!) by this time next year as well as a 3rd suit to round the line up out." John Z

Ask and you may be able to get a deal.

I am not sure if anyone has suggested the Patagonia wetsuits. I have been lucky enough to get 3 of them at half price of over the years when they do a model clearout. The R4 is too warm most of the winter for me on the West Coast of Canada. Demo one of these suits if you can.

Good luck in your search.....I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on whatever you chose after the winter.

Rember at you still get a little bit wet in a drysuit. ;) Both Gul and Mystic.

And Mystic have super customer service in Denmark.

If you spring for an OR drysuit, you should seriously consider the undergarment too.
Those guys spent a lot of time selecting the right fabric and cut
for optimal wick, movement and warmth.
I'm going on my 3rd season with the surf dry with the breathable gelnots layer,
and this under layer is on its 5th season.
Its perfect for long exposures and aggresive sailing.
Being dry is not nessasary, I've wrung this under garment out when its soaking wet,
thrown the rest of the layers over and the "wicking machine" kept me just as comfortable as it would had it been bone dry.
Sure you can wear other garments, I've even gone with street clothes in a pinch.
But you'll be hard pressed to find anything else out there that can regulate heat and moisture at this weight that zips up the back.
(It will super charge any other drysuit system too IMO)

Xcel 5/4 is the wetsuit of choice on Canada's west coast ... maybe a little less extreme winter conditions than you get though.

This site is selling them cheap:
http://www.whiskeymilitia.com/wm/poache ... 3_f31776d1
Limited sizes though.

They have come up once in a while on their deal site .... have to be on it though, they only sell for about 15-20 minutes, then gone, on to the next deal.

Can sign up for notifications on this site http://sacalerts.com/history.php
It can get quite addictive.
