to the right is "the world"...lots of small islands...and so far nothing build on it from what I know...
so, lots of flat water in between...must be an amazing location to kite!
Anyone went there already?

I heard nobody buying because the stagnate water makes it smell like sewer.

from reading, various places over the last few years:
1. Failed property development
2. Stagnant water
3. No wind
4. 50C temperatures
5. Depressing environment from a human rights/economic freedom point of view
6. Convenient location between Iran, Saudi, Israel etc. -maybe good fireworks displays?
Looks interesting from outer space though...

Yep, I used to live in Dubai. I learnt to kite there. Very little wind. I had a 16m north rebel. Most kite with 15-21m kites. Oman is a lot better!
