Feedback on Waroo 7m - What year is this one?

Postby snowycarter » Mon Oct 01, 2012 5:22 am

Hi all, i am looking to get a high wind kite for surfboard riding and also a kit to teach my 45kg 11 y.o. son on. I am looking at a Best Waroo 7m. Never seen or flown one unfortunately.
Does anyone have any comments on these. Would anyone know what year this one is?
Maybe 2009?

Thanks so much for your feedback

That's a 2010. The worst kite I've ever flown and also the last year of the Waroo. Any other year Waroo is a decent kite.

I've never flown one myself, but everyone said this year, 2010, was a complete disaster.

A friend had a 13m and 9m. He said the 13m was absolutely horrible (really hard to turn) but the 9m wasn't bad. Maybe the 7m wouldn't be that bad either if you can get if for a really low price?

I had that bar shown in the picture. The quick release on that bar doesnt work at all if you get any sand in it. One time sand and salt really jammed it up so I had to hang the chicken loop from a hook in my garage and took all of my weight hanging on the QR to get it to open.

Agree 100%. I've flown 06 and 07's and loved those but the 2010 was so much different. I only got to try the 13m but it is for sure the worst kite i've flown.

I found it to be not very responsive and thought it pulls much different than anything I was used to (this is obv a personal thing).

I know how that kite flys and will keep my comments personal, how ever what you should consider is how it relaunches. The bridle length for the front lines is long, it hangs on the wing tip on the larger sizes and make it interesting. I am not sure if there is enough wind how the little ones are.

2010 was an off year for Best. some of it in their control and some of it not. i would rather have a 2007 Bularoo or 07, 08 or 09 Waroo. Best 2010 is the only year I will not buy.

2010 was the year when more than one manufacturer received defective bladders and struggled to fix the situation in a timely manner.

Here is a time line of bests productshttp://www.bestkiteboarding.com/Timeline

I think you would be better off with a Kahoona or other more wave specific kite.
