Best device i ever used for kiting ; made all the pain in my lower back go away. Also-- the Dynabar made it so i could go toe-side a Lot easier than with a regular spreader bar hook. Give 321 a call and ask what their riders feel about this device ...
OK-- i got the V-7 to make things easier but all i need now is wind to try all the suggestions ; they backed down the forecast for today and that's never a good thing to read, i'll have to wait till tomorrow to go kiting.
It is possible to go upwind as good if not better on toeside than on heelside.
There is some good advice given here on stance already. Sorry, but I'm not sure what exactly it is that I do to achieve that as I have been doing it for so long it is second nature to me. I always felt that it was easier to get into a more optimal stance for going upwind when riding toeside.
Is that a modified old school directional? If so, most old school directionals SUCKED!! and modifying one may not be enough to unSUCK it. There was something about everyone I tried that SUCKED. The best old school directionals were the mutants.
Fin positioning and size, shape can make or break a good board. It is can be hard to find a good board that has well balanced positioning for footstraps too. There are a lot of boards (old and new) even with multiple inserts that can not be well balanced for footstrap use.
Consider getting something like a North WAM. It is an excellent oneboard quiver /travel board. It does everything well in a lot of different conditions. It is well balanced for footstrap use too.
something that really helped me was was a mate told me to lean forward much further than actually felt comfortable (at the time..now it feels natural) I think a lot of people have a tendency to stand up quite straight when going toe side, try leaning really far forward and trailing your backhand in the water (just to prove you're leaning far enough out!)
I think DaKine brought out a windsurf harness many years ago which had the spreader bar sliding on a strap. It didn't catch on. This one is specialised being assymmetric, so it may sell in small numbers.

That's a Cool design ; i have doubts on if it is as smooth a travel from side to side as the travel on my Dynabar V7 though.

What happens when Ya lean forward "AND" bend your knees ? Seams like that would edge the board more and force the tows into the deck ?? Remember "My" ankles are made of SS.

It will travel further round to the side than the Dynabar, but only to one side.
Seems like a limiting Harness, I mean by choosing a side, also doesn't look like the movement is very organic, which one thing dynabar does IMHO, is that it doesn't feel like anything, just gives you tons of range of motion. i only remember that I now use Dynabar, when someone goes, What the .... is that thing.
Or like the other day, a kiter @ a new spot pointed out that my hook broke. lol
