going to get a longer and wider surfboard(present 2010 Best 5'7 what cha ma call it) i was dead set on 2011 Slingshot Coupe 6' but starting to look at the Mulcoy.

i have ridden it in quad and thruster. i really like it because you can make those small radius snappy turns you often need to do due to being dictated by the kite in certain conditions. Think I would snap it eventually but it is nice and light and that is just the way it goes for light boards with a bit of flex right now.

thanks, i am worried about how long it will last, i don't do any jumping, but we do have allot of mushy surf and choppy water before you can get to some of the surf spots.

I'm 85kg and have the 5'10. I jump it, but avoid landing it flat. It is a high performance board and brilliant to ride, very light, brilliant at turning tight, it gets going quickly and is a joy to ride.

You need to look after it and it would give you a couple of good seasons use out of it, you will get heel dents, but that's the trade off.

I just got the Mulcoy 5'10" and have surfed it a couple times in 3-4' waves and kited it once. I'm 5'7", 70kg (~155lbs), and I would say I'm an intermediate level surfer. I have paddle surfed and kited the Airush Converse boards (6' and 6'4") and also two of the Resin8 boards (6' Tokoro pintail and the 6' Sam Egan pro swallow).

The Mulcoy board turns so quick, it's more lively than any other board I have ridden. This is a great board, it makes me feel like a much better surfer than I actually am. It's as light as you'd expect a performance shortboard to be, but it seems a tad more solid than other fiberglass surfboards I've had in the past (maybe b/c of the 2x6oz glass). I had it wash up on the rocks briefly a couple times and it was fine. I haven't jumped it yet, but the board still looks brand new after 3 sessions. I would definitely recommend this board.

Agreed my 5'10 is magical. I also have the drifter by BWS which, when it's musher/ more on shore and that is fantastic too.

2 of the best production surfboards I've ever ridden, and I've had a few. The only thing that comes close was my FireWire taj 5'11 which I just sold to a mate as I don't use it now I've these 2 things.

I've tried the 5'10, light version without inserts. So light, that's scary I did't want to give it back and ride mine...
After this test, I've decided to get the 6'0 (i'm 85kg). Reinforced version, around 3kg, so still very light but definitely stronger than the light version.
Those boards are by far the best I've tried and I've tested a bunch of. Quick, confortable, flexible, snappy. If you have the occasion, test them. The 6'0 has more volume and is fone for me, but I could have selected the 5'10 as the shape is brilliant and offer the necessary buoyancy.

psyched to see some discussion of these BWS boards. How did you decide btw the Mulcoy and TDZ? I am 5'11", 195lbs, ride waves and random bay chop/tidal swell, 8-10m mostly. I have an old North Rocketfish, love the shape but I prefer the surfboard flex/feel.
