One of the most inspirering kiteboarders passed away yesterday, Poul died with the kite in his hand at an age of 88.
Poul who turned 88 in february was riding his 8m kite a well windy day at his homespot "Sydvestpynten" near Copenhagen a few km from his house. He came in to shore with the kite a 12 when his heart stopped beating. He died happy the way he wanted at his favorite spot after a great day of kiting - after a long great and very active life around the ocean with his friends.
His life was truly inspiring, I clearly remeber when he took up kiteboarding around 2001 or 2002 and thereafter spending almost every day riding, always with a smile and wanting to chat.
He showed the direction of how to live a great and active senior life and many funy memories remain.
Thanks Poul!

I had know about Poul a few years ago here in Kiteforum. Was an inspiration back then.
When i read the news subject i was wishing he hadnt passed away for a long time sickness, i was wishing he was still active, healthy and he had died doing what he liked to do and still doing it.
that was the way he had to pass, if any. My condolences in this very sad news.
A true inspiration for all of us. Live like there is no tomorrow!

Very sad to hear this!
For sure an idol for all of us and inspiration for older people!
Amazing way to die...I feel really happy for him.
He wouldn't want to go that way? Me for sure!
RIP Poul !
