I am going to buy a rebel size 8 or9.
The guy from the store asked me which size of the 5th line I wanted..?! I never new I could choose its size... Is that correct? which is the normal length for it?
Thanks

I have a feeling that he was asking you.......... "which length 5 line control bar you wanted"
Buying and 8M or 9M you can choose 24 meters line set ,22 meters line set or 19 meters line set
In 2013 North offers their 5 line bars in many choices of length
For larger kites they have also 27 meters line set....and their race kite Dyno can go on 32m line set
But for your 8 or 9 it is a personal choice depending of your type of riding ...(24-22or19)
Like the other reader said something got lost in translation or something
.............Enjoy your new kite....

And which will be the difference between those setings?
I like the kite that turn as fast as my thougths and do not take about 3 or 4 seconds after you give the command to turn. I think I will go to a size 9 where I will mostly use this one on flat bumpy days. some times on waves but not really big ones.
which line length I should choose? any advice?

Most responsive will be the shortest line set available, with some loss of low end performance (less sweep area when sineing the kite to generate apparent wind). 22M would probably be a good compromise.

19m might make the kite ...........FASTER than your thoughts
I would choose 22m.............to match your thoughts

The optimal linelength can depend on a lot of things, including kite size, your experience, what you plan to use the kite for, etc.
We have some more details, along with a high-tech full-color no-expenses-spared chart to aid you in your line-length decision here:
http://www.northkites.com/products/bars/5th-element/.
Scroll down to the "barfinder" and get the skinny.
The truth is that 22, 24, or 27 will probably be the best choice for most people, and there's not an enormous difference between the performance of those lengths, so I wouldn't stress over it. If you can't decide just go with 24. It's been more or less our standard length for years.
