Thx for the info. So looking forward to everything. I'm 56 kg so maybe I will bring my 4 and pick up a 12m. Most all I ride is a surfboard, so looking for swell and waves. I'll kite with ya when it is nukin! My dream set up is the gorge in the summer and NZ in the summer, working to make that happen!

Please tell me that there are a few good beers to me found......

Raglan rocks fella. Super chilled out. If you're on the surf board it is the perfect spot with the Magic Carpet whisking you out to the Raglan Bar in seconds. Few people and pretty predictable wind seasons. I love it.

Beer is on the up - thank god. The years of drinking piss are on the way out. Plenty of micro breweries popping up but nothing like you have in the States.

I reside in Auckland but bash it down to Raglan whenever I can.

Off to do Oregon as soon as I can though!

Enjoy Kiwi lifestyle!

Ok if you 56kg on a surfboard then yes 4m will be used.

you need to make it a priority to get to taranaki if your hunting waves and swell.the guys from raglan and tauranga head here when the swell is pumping. it really is epic.

head to the taranaki with a westerly forecast. if we get a solid few days of westerly then the swell will be pumping.

If unsure if its a good forecast to come down ask on this fastbook page.

hope your turning up soon because the spring westerlies are kicking in now!..

Ok few more questions. My visa has been delayed so looks like I will not be able to get to NZ until late Nov. I'll be shipping my stuff out end of Oct fist of Nov. If I was only going to check two kites and ship the rest, what two size kites would you all suggest? Thickness of the wet suit?

Thanks again, you all have been very helpful. So looking forward to kiting, Raglan here I come!

Kite Kitten,
Machelle

I would kill to have 300 days of kitable wind in a year.

300 days sounds like an exaggeration, 200-250 might be more realistic and some of those days would be pretty average. It has been a cracker spring though, I'm lost count of the number of 25 gusting 35 knot days that we have had in a row now. 15-20 knots would be nice mellow change.

Hey.... my kites just got here last night. My personal effects got hung up in customs, Lucky me.... Any how, I have my gear and I want to kite this weekend. Is it going to blow in the Naki? Let me know and I'll head down.

Cheers,
