Gin Kiteboarding out of business!

Postby Toby » Fri Oct 26, 2012 4:18 pm

I read that Gin stops its business.

That is sad to hear!

http://www.ginkites.com/news/gin-kiteboarding-news

Dear GIN KITEBOARDING Riders,

You have supported and trusted us since the creation of GIN KITEBOARDING in January 2007. Some of you have been with us even longer.
You have followed the evolution of GIN kites from the first MAORI to the URU. The list is long with 17 models of tube and foil kites:

MAORI / ESKIMO / ZIG / NAZCA / ESKIMO II / ZULU / INUIT / NAZCA II / ESKIMO 3 / TONKAWA / TRAINER KITE / ZULU II / ESKIMO 4 / INUIT II / YETI / ZULU 3 / URU

And ... you've tasted all their famous flavors!:

Black-cherry / Coco-cherry / Black-berry / Coco-lime / Pineapple / Menthol / Kaki / Lychee / Lavender / Passion fruit / Mango / Strawberry / Curacao / Lychee / Pistachio / Apricot / Blueberry / Vanilla / Milkshake / Kiwi /Chocolate / Caviar / Fig / Pepper / Cinnamon / Juniper / Blue prune / Lemon / Pitaya / Lime / Orange / Menthol / Caramel / Bubblegum / Curry / Chili / Wasabi / Banana / Coconut / Caviar / Sugar

To continue the evolution of GIN KITEBOARDING in a competitive way in the current kite market, we have to change the existing structure of GIN KITEBOARDING. We have so far not found any convincing solution ensuring we achieve our new goals. We are forced to suspend all GIN KITEBOARDING activities with immediate effect.

A step is completed, some parts of us stay here. With heavy hearts we say goodbye and we thank everyone for having been part of our wildest dreams ... THANKS

Good wind and good riding to all of you!

GIN KITEBOARDING Team

That's too Bad !!
I owned a Gin Zulu para-glider that was Top Notch in workmanship
and it flew as well as any other in it's class. I'm surprised they couldn't
figure it out ?

Sad how i lost that glider :

I just had my legs diced off and i was all High on Perkiset & Morphine, when someone
came in and said i'd never use that thing again ; then he handed me $3K for
all my PG gear .

The money is Gone, and now i have to Beg/borrow my PG rides , like this one.
Glad i didn't sell my Rigid-wing or i'd be screwed !!

G'day Billie,

sorry for off topic question and forgive me for being forward but could I be rude and ask how or why you got your new and improved legs? Just wondering is all! I understand if you don't want to talk about it!

Thanks,

Robbie :D

You didn't hear about it ?
Really ?!!
It was All over the news ...

My girlfriend cut them off, so i Wouldn't run away . She watched the movie Misery , then
read about Bobbitt ; & thought it would be a Good way to keep me around !!

Had a BAD day on my Hang glider ; then turned my lower legs into tapioca pudding
on the landing. It was a foot launched Tow and i forgot to hook in to the glider. Actually
i Did hook in but the wind died so i unhooked & sat down for 10.
Then the wind picked back up and i didn't hook back in.

The bridle was an
over and under so i couldn't just let go. I went for my reserve but the bridle was
covering the chute handle.

So Now i know what the gazelle feels when it's getting eaten by the lion :
"absolutely Nothing" ------ it was a total mental disconnection from the body.
actually felt Way better than the Morphine they gave me for the $12K helicopter
ride to the ER.

I went from # 4 in the world in ACRO on a HG
To
The worst pilot on the planet ; & it only took about 8-seconds to do it. (sigh)

I got a WAY better appreciation for Everything now !!

YES i still fly HG's and PG's ; but even at 16,000'ASL like last summer, i don't forget about
how bad things could go, if i let my guard down again.

Bille
