Ideas on a suitable wave riding surfboard with a decent low end.
Tried the nugget, great low end but loses performance in the waves. A little too skatey for me. But still an awesome alternative.
Ideas? Something than can be used in 11 to 15 knots on a lithuim 14m kite or 14 to 18 on the 10m?
I weigh 75kg (165 pounds I think in most of your language).
Cheers
Notice I said lightish, not light wind. Got a board for that. Also have a mutant for medium winds and a shinn monk for cranking powered days.

Had fun on the nugget, great jump and bump, but for riding the waves, the Naish Fish is better..

The firewire surfboard line offers many hybrid shapes that might be what you are looking for. . Check out the dominator. potatonator, baked potato, and sweet potato(shaped like the nugget but more sizes, better perfomance). They also have a kiteline, just not too many shapes to choose from. I did see a 5'8" dominator in their kite line that should work well for your size in light wind. http://www.firewiresurfboards.com/

Really like the concept, and we get out in decent light winds. But it is a bit skatey as I said, maybe strapless as you said will be better. Bloody fun though. The other day no wind so we went surfing with it, had a good laugh and threw in some crazy ass stuff in the surf. You should try it, why not.

Westozzy wrote: chop top has been mentioned. I've got an Airush Chop Top. It's a great lighwind surfboard and would be fine for the conditions you are describing. The newer models can be setup as a quad or thruster to fine tune performance. Airush stopped making them, but new Chop Tops are still for sale...

Should have read you post better...as a north guy I have a nugget and a pro 5'11. These two boards cover it all for me...I tried to surf nugget in some bigger waves and had a hard time duck diving it to get out out...glad you had fun on it...good luck finding a great board!
