design may be ok, quality is hard to say, though easy to call dubious. What is likely lacking is engineering. And testing. Two things the kite industry as a whole does little of. One likely cause may be that the knots on the ends of the line were too small and wedged into the plastic tunnels, cracking them open.. This could happen easily with overhand knots in braided line I think. Leader line diameter maybe not big enough? Figure 8 knots better than overhand... ..maybe need a parrel ball on the end of the leader.... All the usual little things that save a chinese factory a few cents per bar.... to sell another one next year.... Of course it's possible the plastic is not the right plastic also!
