How can you blame him for wanting to tell the world...
Well said Ted but......do explain why when you go to the Outer Banks...and kite against V2's...and the wind backs down to true 7-8kn...
...the V2's can no longer pulls the kiters on the water....but you still can go on your 21

That would mean that your SP3 21 can pull a kiter in lower wind speed and therefore IS the ultimate LW machine and not his

Can you tell a great friend that.....and would he be able to accept that?

If you were to tell the world that in a "non-gradient wind "of 3kn avg (2-4)...you were able to glide around on your SUP...
....you would get some negativity...don't you think?

Come on Ted, you can have a giggle like everybody else is (apart from those connected with Epic).

I don't see any hate on this thread, just people having a chuckle about how ridiculous these claims have become.

Laughing is good for the soul.

Yeah I was thinking the same..what part of this thread is hating?

I think Dimitri's engagement is exactly why people aren't hating...but if anyone that holds a different opinion is either a hater or a pimp then we'd be in problems.

I think mostly that people are reacting to claims that is not consistent with their own experiences.

TedB: You have to agree that a 2 knot claim even if it is on a SUP is pretty unreasonable?

At that point, the kite is about as good as a birthday balloon, so might as well land it and find something better to do.
That's one of many options  Personally, I found the 360s funny as hell!

Once again, FIXATING on the 2 knots. Just get over it and assume he said 5-6 knots. Perfectly reasonable, and who really cares? Let me restate Dimitri's claim.

Ahem... "It's a light wind kite. It can stay in the air in really really low wind. It can pull you across the water in pretty darned light wind. It's agile and fun, and it relaunches very well."

There it is, plain and simple. Please proceed in the discussion as if that was his claim.

Of course, I know that this will never happen, because people need something to nitpick, discredit, over-analyze and generally cry foul over.

[quote="Flight Time"] Just get over it and assume he said 5-6 knots. Perfectly reasonable [quote]

But HE did not.....and that IS what gets him in trouble

If he would have said what you just said...instead of 2-4 (avg.3kn)

He would have made a INFINITE difference

I even said it...5.5knots / 6.4mph...very weak power indeed..is what was REALLY needed to ride

His spot where he kites is very shallow....so he should do this...maybe

All he needs to do is install a 12 meter pole sticking out of the water with anenometer on top

You can only measure wind speed over water...wind windmeter over the water...not over land

12 meters high should do it since he rode his kite at about a 45 degree angle "Parked"..no sine

I'm getting a nervous feeling with this topic.I thought everyone was just joking around while waiting for wind or warm weather. 2knots, 4 knots, even 8 knots? wtf, This isn't the kiting I'm addicted to.I'm going bowling!

Guys I have nothing to hide and this is the reason why I have been doing demos in Florida from NAPLES, to SANIBEL ISLAND to THE KEYS and next week will be back and do more demos in MIAMI, DELRAY, POMPANO, JUPITER, COCO BEACH and so on.....

Like Mr.Ted B said: It is time for a "LIGHT WIND SHOW DOWN".
I meant what I said. The INFINITY v3 can fly in 2 to 4 knots and it has been proven so many times. And the last time was in NAPLES two weeks ago. Don't worry once again I have videos to show the reaction of the people on the beach. If you know NAPLES, it is a Cabrinha territory. Very hard to convince them.

Any way I never said it was fun to kite in 2 to 4 knots on an SUP board or 4 to 7 knots. Personally I start having fun kiting on the OXYGEN v2 or the REEF 5'7" surf board with the INFINITY V2 or V3 in (7 to 11 knots). This is when the fun start and this is when I can do some of the moves I love to do which is:
Back loop to blind with looping the kite / KiteLoop transition / Jumping / Toes side jumps with nose grab and with kiteloop transition / Landing blind while the kite is doing kite loops / and so on...and not just go back and forth. But kiting once again is all about going big and (18 to 35 knots) is when all the fun starts. And that is what kiteboarding is all about.

SupaEZ I will be coming to COCO beach December 13th or maybe the 15th depending the conditions so you guys can test all the kites depending the conditions. Hopefully it will be blowing less then 5 knots so you can see it from yourself what the INFINITY v3 and V2 is all about.
By the way can I crash at your place for a night? Tell your wife, I'll cook dinner.
