The world's best kiteboarders are coming to Cape Town for an extreme big air competition that's back after a seven year hiatus. With a spectacular new format, riders will take extreme kiteboarding to new heights. Ride hard!
BTW - read the judging criteria...shouldn't freestyle look exactly like that? in my opinion yes...a mix of all and height scores 70%. AWESOME !
PKRA beware...if Red Bull would make a tour, you will be history...although a real wakestyle tour with a similar format like Triple S would be cool to have.
huge airs are what made kiteboarding popular and it's a shame this part of the sport has been somewhat forgotten. good to see it back. I have nothing against wakestyle, huge airs are just a lot more impressive to the average person.
"Risk factor is directly linked to the Power (already includes speed in and out, lines direction and amplitude - height) involved in the execution of the tricks, but also to the commitment of the competitor, technical and physical challenge during the execution, duration of the critical moment, amount and quality (lines direction) of the air in the trick, and energy on the execution."
I seem to remember taking a fair bit of heat for raising this issue a while back in critique of the airstyle "world championships".
