Size of Harness

Postby Redriver » Wed Dec 26, 2012 7:57 pm

I would like to sell a kiteboarding waist harness for a friend of mine. Where do I measure to find out what size it is?

I guess you mean "buy" ;-)

buying a harness for someone else is tricky...remember, a harness is the connection between the power of the kite an the rider.
It has to sit perfectly, and everyone is different.

e.g.: if you are a friend of mine, and you buy me a waist harness, I could ride 1 hour and then I cannot move anymore...

Or you buy me a seat harness, my back would be ok, but I cannot do my tricks.

So, the point is, you can go wrong easily.

I suggest you get a gift certificate, and your friend selects the one he needs by going to a shop, putting it on and test it under load.

just my 2 cents...

Thanks. But I really mean to sell. A friend of mine has a harness for sale but does not know the size.

C'mon - you are kitesurfers both of you, right ?

So you must know if you use small or medium or large whenever you buy or try a new harness, as that is all there is to it :thumb:

They got a huge range they can "span" so it just has to be approximate size only.

But Toby is right - a harness is the most difficult thing to get bulls eye, and it might take years and years to get it right !

The wetsuit - the board - the kite - none of these matters as much as a harness that fits YOU, and maybe nobody else as I have never seen anything as individual as harnesses....

The most individual part of kitesurfing gear, no doubt at all - everything else is just main stream or simple preferences and adaption - compared
