HyperFlex Wetsuit Experience

Postby windyway » Wed Dec 26, 2012 8:46 pm

I've owned maybe a dozen O'Neill long and shorty wetsuits.
My spring suit is a Gooru 2/2 back zip shorty that is sealed a taped and I like it.
For colder temps, I have an expensive Pycho I 4/3 that has never been very warm or flexible.
My O'neill suits have all been durable and well made, with no quality complaints.

Along comes my friend Chad in a Hyperflex AMP3 Wind, who claims he gets too hot.
Of course I don't really believe him completely, but he now has my attention.
So I order one online from LeisurePro for my early Christmas present to myself.
It was only $200 including shipping, so I wasn't expecting it to be as good as he claimed.

Its a front zip style, that takes a little extra effort to get off the shoulders.
The neoprene is more flexible and the inside fleece like liner is so warm.
The two layer neck closure system prevents any flushing.
The the entire suit is totally wind proof, even though it has very little fragile smooth skin.
The AMP3 Wind is the best I have ever used, and a bargain price too.

4/3mm Men's Hyperflex AMP3 Wind Wetsuit
Price: $289.99 msrp
Neoprene Type: 100% Stretch
Seam Type: Sealed & Taped
Extras: Poly Fleece Lining
Note: Excellent for Windsports

4/3mm Men's O'Neill PSYCHO 3 Full Wetsuit
Price: $469.95 msrp
Neoprene Type: 100% Stretch
Seam Type: Sealed & Taped
Inner Lining: Poly Fleece Lining

Yeah I second that - I got a 6/5/4 AmpIII and I'm overly warm in 5-10°C air temps. The benefit is my hands and feet stay really warm too...

I've got 3 of their suits - a 3/2 Cyclone-2 cos it was cheap, a short john to avoid wedgies in summer (seat harness) and the whale scrotum Amp... I think I should have gone with the 4/3 lined though like y'all suggested :D

Bought one last Christmas, $220 delivered to my door, really warm wetsuit.
Bitch to get into, they need to make the zipper wider for slobs like me. Only
beef I have is the areas that are embossed with their designs tend to crack
and tear if you pull near them. Had to aqua seal a few of these spots. Good
deal though.

Have one and like it a lot. Get a size larger and short length - easier to get into and fits a little better.

Definitly one of the best wetsuits i ever own. my 4/3 keeps me warm long after most people changed to much thicker suits or even some people with drysuits. Its very compfortable compeared to the other suits i have. Its far more stretchy.

I can only recommend people to try the suits.

@ Dirk, i got them by mail. I live in the netherlands.
I believe there are some shops out there. And i'm working on a shop from a friend of mine who is very interested in selling the brand. But he's still starting up.

For now i would simply order from their website. It works out very well since they are very professional with this.

Have a buddy who experienced the same problem and HYPERFLEX replaced the suit under warranty.
