But in general for boardoffs...the kite has to stay above you in the zenith...and float with you forward. If the kite moves away from zenith, you need to steer back into zenith. That's why bigger, slower kites are better for this, since you will have more control over it.
If you just want to jump high...fly the zenith close to zenith back and forth, if you have a small kite and go really high.
2: don't even think about it! Those guys have few m line length, and know what they do...never ever think about it with 10+m line length...there are other ways of self launch...just search this forum!
