getting winter neoprene boots dry fast

Postby Kirok » Fri Jan 04, 2013 7:51 pm

It is probably obvious to most but I have not seen it posted.
I used to have problems getting my neoprene boots dry after a session. It seemed to take forever for them to dry. In winter and in the celler, they never dried.

So the solution is to crumple up newspaper and stuff them in the booties. Wait at least three hours then exchange the paper with fresh newspaper. After the second change (I use overnight), the boots are totally dry and odor free.

I mean everyone does this right?

Kirk

my location is not so cold that it matters if my booties are dry or not.

Excellent advice! I was using the girlfriend's hair dryer but it just made them warm, not dry.

blow a fan on them overnight, they will dry quickly and will never smell. I do this with all my neoprene. Stuffing them with newspaper is way too much trouble. You might need to prop them open with a wire hanger.

I am getting one of these. Worth the money if you are on the water a lot and want dry gear.

Those work great. Had one for about 3 years now and still going strong despite sandy salty boots and gloves after every session.

They are dry in a couple of hours and much less stench than sitting wet

i have this stuff for that:

it is low on power, but i can use it in my car at winter too for warming up my snowboard boots on the way to the spot and drying them on the way back to home.
