From their web..... " 100% engineered and made in Germany. "
not a one from police, emergency response or coast guards?
Gosh .... as far as I know , these guys started their company last year ... presented their idea in several competitions / events and started production 6 months ago , they are a sort of " kickstarter " and received investment money from the local government or so ....
Anyway .... you have made it clear that you strongly believe that the product is a scam / useless / worthless
I believe it is actually a great idea .... you will use any opportunity you´ll get to express your opinion about this matter and I will do exactly the same .
The best part is : people will decide by themselves ....some may agree with you , some may not
Yin & Yan ....

Franz
well i'm an atheist.
i don't care about yin and yan and about lot of other religious stuff.
you are believeing that those stuff are reliable (both socks and balloon)
well, i am not.
after i reed a lot of reviews i may be make my decision.
but i have a lot of knowledge in the physics and i know aerodynamics.
and when i see some stupid wandergadget, i most certainly know it.

It is great for the makers of all these gadgets that people will just make up their minds that THIS gadget is the best thing ever, and they simply MUST have it. It is going to make life easier, make you feel safe, and solve all your problems. It goes to prove a point: If you have an idea, even if it seems lame and flawed to you and you think it will never sell, run with it and bring it to market. By the combined powers of marketing and mass gullibility, people will buy it.

The saying "absolutely certain and never in doubt, but not always right" can be applied to people who comment from an opinion base not a fact base on threads.

When I was in my 20's and 30's I was like that, now I'm nearing my 50's I'm less certain about things than ever before. When young you make statements, when old you ask questions.

This isn't a criticism of people, more an observation.

these days it seems the more sure and louder you are the more likely you are wrong

but it is human nature to want to have answers, even if they make no sense

I have no idea why I am siting down and typing this .... maybe just to prove you wrong .

Here the story .....

I followed the development of these socks at the german kiteforum

http://forum.oase.com

Just to let you know , that " local " forum gets more visits & posters than this forum ... yep , it is about twice the size so it´s not simply a local kite forum where 5 people visit .

As far as I remember the development started at least 2-3 years ago ( at that time I was really interested in getting a pair ) and it took them years to get the final version testing several materials with the feedback from several forum members who got the first production units , at some point I lost the track about this matter and got my fivefingers instead

One thing is , YOU may think that this product is not good for you but many others need protection in their feet since not all beaches are fine sand Caribbean style and not all want / like to wear booties or similar stuff .

Other than that , I have seen them in person , talked to people wearing them and can confirm that they work as they should .
but i have a lot of knowledge in the physics and i know aerodynamics.
Ahhhhhh.......

Good to know .....

Regards

Franz

OK, so here is some pimpin' -- what about the NPX NeoSock? I've used them and been happy. They don't last as long as a hard sold bootie though...

yes... i am a sucker!

email:

"Philipp,

As I said in my first email, I used the socks 5 times(2-3 hours per session), sandy beach and coarse sandy beach.

Like I also said in first email, both left and right socks had the same issue.

I'm not going to send you any more money. But I would like a refund!

I am going to post this on http://www.kiteforum.com/, because I think other consumers should know about my experience with the product.

I used the Zem Gear Ninja Split Toe High, which I really liked as well, in the same environment for about 6 months (30-35 sessions) before they fell apart, just for comparison.

Cheers,
Scott

Dear Mr Johnson,

great to hear that you love them.

We are not sure how that happened, the SPS is highly cut resistant.

Test people have used the SPS over months in all sorts of daily outdoor barefoot living. Most of the activities
were board sport and beach sport, but also running on soft ground. They all reported good protection against
all sorts of injuries apart from puncture which cannot be secured by knitted fabrics.

Technically the cut protection was tested by the German TÜV where it got a grade II test result.
The responsible technician told us that this is sufficient for the protection claims by the
Swiss Barefoot Company set for the SPS.

The SPS is “cut resistant” but not “cut proof” analogous to the water exposure of watches.

We can offer you to order a new SPS for a special price of only 30€ plus VAT plus shipment instead of 60€.

How long did you use the SPS so far ?
How is the surface of the surfspots you have been using the SPS ?

I hope we will find a way to make both sides happy, and sure we will.

Yours faithfully,
Philipp Bachinger

How's it going?

Really love my Protection socks!

However, they have developed small holes, at the heels, after about 5
sessions. Please see the pictures. (both left and right socks have the
same hole)

I have been using them for kiteboarding. Two of the sessions where in
salt water, pacific ocean, southern California, sandy beach with some
rocks. The rest of the time I was using them at a mountain desert lake
(southern Sierra's CA), fresh water, with coarse sand on the beaches.

Would love a replacement pair. Or a refund.

Thanks,
Scott "
