SS Celeritas 2012 5'8 - is it any good? Feedback pls.

Postby omg » Fri Jan 04, 2013 10:59 am

Hi,

I have Tyrant 2012 strapless version and thinking about the Celeritas 5'8 for lighter winds.

I know that 2012 introduced an odd looking tail, and now 2013 has a "normal" tail, so did the 2012 work at all? And if you can comment otherwise the board capabilities, that would be awesome.

Does the 2012 Celeritas plane earlier than Tyrant 6'1?

Thanks and good winds!

I have the 2011 5'8" celeritas, great board, does it all for me, waves, lite wind, small chop. It is my goto board.

I own the 2011 Tyrant 6.1 and can't imagine that the Celeritas is any better regarding light wind. I know that the tail of the Cel isn't as narrow, however the Tyrant is 3 inches longer and that is quite a lot.
At least I have ridden other 5.8 boards and always had the impression that my 6.1 is just more floaty.
Or am I oversimplifying matters here?

Omg,

Have had the Celaritas and a FireWire similar to the tyrant. I have the BWS drifter which is brilliant gfor lighter wind/on shore, I'm 85 kg.
