I’m having a bit of trouble when looping the kite with this trick. At times the loop is really pulling me fast and hard. I’m thinking this may be because I’m not falling towards the kite enough or I’m not looping the kite soon enough. Any tips would be appreciated

The more wind you have, the later you should loop the kite!

E.g.: if it has 20+ knots, looping the 18 will smash you!
But I still can do the slides, since I keep sliding until my kite is pretty far over the zenith at the wind window, and then I initiate the loop...look rather like a downloop!

Give it a try and let us know if this helped you!

I managed to complete the trick in the sense I fell forward while sending the kite, flew low across the water and looped the kite and continued on my merry way. I still don’t have a real feel for this trick and am wondering if you treat it like a low jump and keep the kite at twelve for a period of time or just send the kite slowly overhead and slowly loop the kite to finish. On a few occasions I’ve ended up doing a low high speed jump finishing with being yanked hard downwind when trying to complete the loop. I’m wondering if there are any tips that help you get the feel for slide type tricks. I’m kiting in choppy water which probably isn’t helping much

sounds like you are sending it too hard...it has to fly slowly over the zenith, and you go downwind, no hard edging before, just a bit to pop off the water.

Maybe start with keeping the kite at one position (going to right: 1 o clock, left: 11), and then when you feel you loose power, start the loop slowly...

Any known video of dark slide with strapped surfboard directional ?

Is it even possible to do or is it only a TT move?
