Anyone tried both the choptop and cypher? Should I just go for a used choptop 2012 or put in the extra to get a new cypher? Looking at the 5'8 and my weight is 90 kg. nearby spots are mostly smaller, onshore waves.

Go with the Cypher! I have the 5'6 (im 75kg) and its insane in onshore conditions. It definitely feels a lot smaller, surfier and looser than the Choptop with new V bottom while keeping the stability and ease of use riding strapless. I've been riding strictly strapless and its

It can also handle bigger waves and cross shore winds better than the Choptop. I felt the Choptop would reach its limits a bit sooner as the wind and waves picked up.

Which is best for light wind?

They are quite comparable in lightwind. The choptop is about .25 inches wider so you can argue it has a bit more planning surface. Saying that - the Cypher would be a lot more fun and playful while riding so in my opinion is that it will make up for the 1/4 inch missing when you are having a great time!!!

I talked to airush.dk before new years and they were hopping for the new boards to land this month. Keeping my fingers crossed.

The water is starting to get too cold for freestyle so I would be great to have a new surf boad to play with

Do you ride it with thruster og quad setup?

I stick with the stock quad set up. Heaps of drive in onshore and it's pretty fun in cross shore.

I have a Choptop - super fun board. I haven't tried a Cypher, but I will as soon as one crosses my path.

So it comes Stock with quads or both?

Just got an email form the distributor the boards should be on its way and get here next week me happy now. 4 months of waiting and had to buy 2 crappy surf boards in the interim...really hope it is worth the wait. Have had my 2x 2013 tt's for 4 and 1 month now.

Its comes stock standard with the quad fins. Although it uses a box called Surfinz which is compatible with FCS so I have a bunch of center fins already that Ive swapped around to use it as a tri fin anyways.

Arrives just in time for when your...everything...thaws out in Denmark.
